I have had the pleasure of getting to know Blayne Barlow, founder of CTRL Industries, over the last 8 months or so. I'm not quite sure how I found CTRL, but I'm glad I did. When I first "liked" them on facebook they were almost to 200 likes, at the time of this post (1/19/2012) they are now at 2,463!!! All with in 8 months. Blayne and his family are great people and I'm glad I've got to talk with them as much as I have. They are always responsive to their fans, always asking what they want, and they work hard into the night to make sure we get the best stuff. He sounds like a cool cat.

Slightly off topic, but their Carioca blue gi looks phenomenal. I've been close to ordering it a few times, but have not seen any review on it, hardly any on CTRL either.

I'll hopefully be getting The Rook soon, and I'll be doing a review for that I know theres another site that'll be doing one as well for one of their new gi's.

But at the moment I know you can get a 20% discount if you use CARIOCA20 at check out. It is for IN STOCK only Gi's though. Which I think is Carioca 1.0... not 100%

Thanks for checking it out. Blayne is an awesome guy, and always really good about getting back to you with any questions or concerns.

Thanks so much for the interview. I thought your questions were really cool. It was cool to be interviewed like that. Thanks for the compliments guys, and thanks for reading the interview.

Koral nor Atama make red gis anymore but yeah I'm looking for one. I don't like the Vulkan or Keiko ones.

Different topic, Did you say that the Rooks are in and ready to be shipped out? I noticed on your website that A2s appear to be sold out, is that right?

My friend trains in Hilo. Another friend trains with a Royler Gracie instructor.

We have only one left. That is it. All the rest are sold out on budovideos as well.
 
I competed against one of Blayne's teamates at a tournament in arizona last summer, then met him at a Caio Terra seminar the next day. We ended up rolling a couple rounds after the seminar. He's a cool dude and was a lot of fun to roll with. I really like the CTRL designs, they make some of the coolest looking bjj shirts out there imo.
 
Cool interview. I don't own a ctrl kimono, but right now I only like the style syr and ctrl are coming out with.
