Cleto Reyes makes the gloves used in LUX. The fighters who have fought there have complimented them.

It’s well worth the watch. He designed the original “fight glove” for the Gracie’s. The sport needed gloves to help get commissioned but Gracie's didn’t want a glove that would interfere with Jiu Jitsu.

Yes those were cool. Also other organizations like SHOOTO had gloves going way back! But this is the first glove that was really designed specifically for grappling in NHB

If you are interested in buying a pair for collection purposes…. The video has contact details! The Interviewer has limited quantity it’s on a first come first serve basis. Ideally would love to see them in the hands of a collector or someone that will appreciate them! These gloves are rare and hard to find

Melton Bowen at UFC 4 was the first time "MMA-style" gloves were worn in the UFC (not counting, of course, Mr. "One Glove" himself Art Jimmerson) while Tank Abbott (who debuted at UFC 6) was the first fighter who regularly wore gloves to protect his hands. But I still say the old blue PRIDE gloves were the best

One of my buddies bought a fight used pair! Cleto Reyes is top quality. I was shocked to see a league using those! They aren’t cheap and they let the fighters keep them! Most leagues collect the gloves after you compete. I know people that fought for PFL, Bellator, WEC, and had to return them! Other got to keep them. But Japan takes everything back. My buddy fought Kid Yamamoto in Dream, they withhold your paycheck until they get the gloves. Same with Pride, Josh Thomson said it sucks he didn’t get to keep his pair. Also Rizin collects them and sells them to high bidding auctions. Spike Carlyle fought their champ and several times for them, never got to keep a singer pair!

Felix Mitchell wore a pair of MMA gloves at UFC 3, but big John McCarthy made him take them off before the fight started vs Shamrock. The rule was changed by the next event.

What’s crazy too is Big John McCarthy said fighters were making fun of Tank backstage for requesting gloves! He said at the end of the night nobody said a word
