I’m sure there are actual fighters in this forum
I’ve always been curious So what happens exactly when a fighter comes in over the limit? Insight of the psychology that occurs in this situation is welcomed too. Who gets mad at who? People still get paid somehow I assume. Battle blew in pretty big time wtf is up with the lack of discipline and respect ? Thanks in advance for the intel

I don't understand the other guy, he was angry that the fight was off but why didn't he just fight anyway, who cares about 4 pounds if you take half his post plus you think you are great

I don't know that they do actually get paid when this happens. I remember Stephen Thompson making a big deal about it when this happened to him. His argument was he fulfilled his end of the contract so should get paid for his efforts. The UFC said you get paid to fight, no fight no pay.

This is the 2nd fight in a row Battle didn't bother to make weight and I believe 3rd time in 6 fights so this is a pattern not an honest mistake.

Nursulton Ruziboev is 6'5", can't be that easy for him to get down to 185, so how could he not be mad for being put in this situation? He went through camp with all the expenses that go with that, the mental and physical depletion to make weight that he must then recover from.

Then he finds out his opponent didn't bother to put himself through any of that and he is not going to get paid unless he accepts to once again allow this guy to fight at a significant advantage.

Weight cutting for most guys is a brutal affair and four fucking pounds is a massive amount to miss by. So if one guy makes weight, and therefore put himself through hell, and the other misses by four god damn pounds then the fighter who was a professional and paid his dues is completely right to bail. The after effects of weight cuts are real and tangible. If a guy missed by a few ounces then fine, but four pounds is far too much.

Sometimes they let the fight go on if the overweight guy is willing to pay half of his purse. not sure about 4 lb though, that's a lot.

I reckon Battle is going to be cut by Monday and he is going to have to find money to pay his team for thier efforts preparing him.

The other guy gets royalty fucked. The ufc should pay him show money but dana aight gonna do that. Instead he will get rebooked quickly depending on how much time he needs to recover from his own weight cut

Exactly, and if you watch Battle's weigh in, he was as soft and fluffy as a Ritz Carlton pillow showing he clearly had not been going through any struggles and would be fresh as a boutique of daisies in the fight.

Also the money penalty, especially at these guys' level, is not worth the potential damage to your record, career, and health. On one of the weigh in shows Megan Olivi offered an interesting proposal that there should also be some fight penalty for missing weight such as an automatic point deduction taken in the first round.

I honestly think the fight should go ahead.

If fighter a misses weight they should lose a point for every lbs over. If they miss by over 3lbs the fight can still go ahead but they can't win and it goes down as a non contest if they do.

Also they should lose 50% of there purse for the 1st lbs and another 10% for every lbs over after that.

Battle is a major douche I hope he gets cut, can’t stand that guy hopefully I never see his weird face again m.

Vitor Belfort liked to chew ice wrapped in his t-shirt..

Battle should be cut for these weight misses or forced to LHW

Give him Ion Cutelaba for his LHW debut if he doesn't get cut
