How long does your typical velcro / hook and loop closure last?

The velcro on my Airwalk backpack died out after ~3 years of use.

There aren't even anymore "hooks" on there.

The ones on my cheap Everlasts were still going strong even though the padding died before the velcro did...

How about you guys? Did any of your velcro / hook and loop closures die prematurely or last an eternity?

When I first started I use the cheap everlast gloves I had to toss them out after 3 months. The padding died out before the velcro did.My second pair of gloves were the title classics training gloves the velcro on those last about a year but the padding is still okay.My current gloves are the windy hook and loop gloves and those have not worn out yet and I've had them for close to a year now.

I have had my Top King gloves for nearly two years and the hook and loop closure is still like new

One of my twins glove velcro is failing only had it for like year or less

I have gloves and shin guardws from Combat Sports and after about 5 years of training 3-5 times a week, the velcro is still perfect.

all depends on how much you use your gear...if you train 4 times a week then a year of use would be about right from my own findings .

My experience with Velcro failing has been surprising. I have had the Heavy Duty velcro fail more than the light duty velcro. Obviously it is used in more severe applications, but the failure has always been the same in that the female part of the fastener fails first and the male portion is as good as new.

I think a seamstress or similar may be able to resew velcro patches but don't quote me on this..
