If you HAD to live in either LOTR or Harry Potter universe, which one would you pick?

LOTR universe or Harry Potter universe. In the LOTR universe, you get to choose whether to be a human, dwarf or elf. In the Harry Potter universe, you'd be a student at Hogwarts.

Harry Potter is in modern times, with the extra benefit of magic to make life even easier. Sure you might have a dark wizard leading a genocidal terrorist cell, but it's not that different than real life.

Pretty much this, LOTR doesn't really focus on the fact that a bunch of people probably die of random disease/infection before reaching 30. If your a simple peasant, your only option is to learn to use the sword, and even then, your time will have to be dedicated to working the field and stuff.

I assume that in the Potter universe I would have access to magic...so basically this world with magic, sounds pretty good. If I can pick my birth conditions I go for LOTR though.
