Revolutionary coups do not classify as terrorism. We should stop using such a broad definition of terrorism, so that we can communicate properly.

Those things may both be true (I suspect they are), but he is still under US protection, and it is a treasonous act to plot with Turkey to kidnap him and send him back, especially while acting as a foreign agent of Turkey. He deserves the noose. And we're also right to fight what is happening there (imo)- because look what the fuck is happening to Turkey. It's turning into a full-on Islamist shithole dictatorship with all of the quickness.

I'm not sure there has been an illness of acting against US interests (intentionally) until recently. Flynn is part of this cabal of Russian lackeys that Trump either recruited or inherited from his own business dealings with the Russian mob. Flynn seems like an exceptional case, and Obama probably could have put him under all of the prisons, though we can't say for sure.

When it's the Saudis or the Israelis, there is at least a direction of US policy that is consistent with our interests (I say that with all sense of irony, I know). We've maintained toxic relationships that hurt us, but the intent is not to hurt ourselves. That's where this new cabal is different from the old one. They don't like our democracy. They don't like stability in eastern Europe, particularly Germany. The lobbying is now being done directly by the oligarchs- it has reached an entirely new level.

Ok, but then someone needs to explain to me what it is that Russia does, that everyone else doesn't do.

I can't say I believe in a deep state, but it seems the most plausible explanation to me with the information available.

A government within the government that says lobbying for Turkey or the Pakistani ISI is ok, but with Russia you cross the line.

There were calls from both sides to fire Comey before Trump was elected because of his overdisclosure of election-related investigations, which bordered on publicity stuntery. Hillary or Trump his days were numbered.

Calling it a witch hunt is noise? At the end of the day that's what it was. It was a rather unremarkable hacking incident and the DNC tried to turn it in their favor by blaming the other candidate -- based on literally, absolutely nothing. Goofballs like Maxine Waters taking shots in the dark.

What is the most likely outcome of all this investigation noise? Actual evidence based charges against the administration or impediments to the whitehouse and congress to actually push forward legistlation and policy changes?

Its obviously the latter. And the media is on cloud nine right now. The major media outlets have been able to spit out hundreds of hours of revolving opinions on just the Comey hearing alone. They will still be highlighting the special counsel investigation several months from now. They are set with the same content for the rest of the year.

And its almost entirely meaningless in the grand scope of things. Do you really that the disadvantaged people in this country give 2 shits about Russia hacking and leaking our politician's emails? Because that is the only evidence based thing we have out all of this bullshit.
