If Stipe knocks out Jones, does Jones ask for and get a rematch?

Do you think Jones sticks around if he loses or rides off into the Stipeset? I would say he goes for the rematch because he no longer has a perfect record to protect, it would pay very well and he doesn't want to go out on a loss.

if they did rematch, would prob end up being 2026

yes, he's Dana's GOAT and occasional lover and the UFC has literally bent over backwards for him 100 times over the years. why stop now?

things like merit and the fact that there's an interim belt on the go don't have a bearing on the UFC's HW shit show

That would be the crowning achievement of Stipe’s career. He should retire after that.

Stipe is not the type to not honour a rematch, remember what he did after destroying Francis in their first fight?

Francis was a health risk type of a fight for minimal pay. Stipe wants money and Jon can keep giving him that

If Jones lost by KO, he wouldn't ask for a rematch, just like he wouldn't fight Aspinall or Ngannou.

??? What is all these odd scenarios and why would he ask for a rematch. Both are set to retire if they do not do well. Jones has mentioned that him staying and continuing to fight is based on how he does against Stipe and how his body looks and feels in the cage after his injury. Stipe has said similar that he may retire.

Jones will probably congratulate Stipe and retire if that happened.

There is a sick part of me that kinda wants to see it, then Jon win a rematch, then there has to be a rubber match... given what we've seen that'd tie up the HW belt for about six years and the tears shed here would be something to behold.

In the extremely rare case that Stipe wins this fight (I think it'll be a blowout for Jones), yes. Absolutely. Jon Jones will 110% request/demand a rematch.

Look, Jones has probably been the most vocal UFC fighter in history when discussing a "legacy" and what legacy means to him. He's made his money, and everything he stands for is dependent on that undefeated streak of his. A loss will shatter people's perception of him- and he's aware of that.

Make no mistake. Jones will cry his eyes out if he loses. But he's smart and understands that the only way he'll be able to salvage that loss is by soundly defeating Stipe in a rematch.

In other words, Jon Jones CAN'T go out on a loss. HIs legacy depends on it.

If Stipe beats Jon the thought of retiring will fly out the window for both guys imo. & Stipe will have the GOAT resume.
