If round 5 is not a 10-8 for Dern then there is no such thing

I mean she hit her like what? close to a 100 strikes in that round or more? with a mount, sub attempt, and had that position majority of the round, at this point someone needs to be shot for it to be a 10-8 and even then its 50/50 if they will score it that way. One smart judge had it even due to the obv 10-8 in the 5th, the other 2 are smoking the good stuff.

2 judges didnt give Barcelos a single 10-8 and he deserved 2 of em. It is what it is. Judges are retarded and make no sense how they're employed. One of the few jobs in the world where you get rewarded and not fired for incompetence.

Judges don't seem to give as much value to having someone's back as they used to. In fact, they seemingly give minimal value. However, the 14,000 punches landed are what made it a 10-8 in my opinion. There was such a large discrepancy in offense in round 5. Even in the closing seconds, Dern landed more off her back than Yan did from the top.

Outstruck her nearly 7 to 1 and controlled her for >4:30 minutes. That’s domination. Yan was forced to be entirely defensive for nearly the entire round. She defended well for the most part, but if you’re unable to do anything but defend, it should weigh heavily against you.

As much as I agree with the 10-8 5th round, two judges scored it 10-9 after seeing Yan escape the armbar and throw punches at the end.

yeah i guess she pulled a Volk, or Izzy, or Max, or Nate, lot of dudes can land a lot without KOing someone not sure what the confusion here is.

I was responding to the poster that said 100 strikes in one round. You brought gender into this.

If someone can heavily defend and the opponent on top can’t get enough offense to win…… ??? Sounds like a stalemate to me.

I don't know if I'm more irked by the scoring of that 5th round, or the fact Dern couldn't pull a sub out of any of those dominant positions.

She landed 100 strikes and didn’t knock her out? Wtf
The clowns are impressed by punches that didn’t amount to a single thing. If a world class bjj player can’t submit you in 4 minutes of control time. That says something. Yan did a really superb job of both TDD, and sub defence.
