I am getting into MMA training Muy Thai And Bjj at the Graice Barra gym in my hometown of Flint, MI and was wondering what would be my ideal walk around weight be and my ideal weight class. I use to be really athletic in high-school and weighed about 130+ fast forward a few years I blew up to 230 got back to 200 in these last two weeks of working out. I'm 5'7 my reach is about 70in tell me what you guys think.

Any lifting experience? How much lean mass you have to work with?

In 5ft7 I the ideal weight class would be 145. But that would be a kill cut from 200 except you have a good amount of fat.

Depends on how you feel with your body. With your height and reach, I'd say featherweight.

I've been all over the place, 140-160, and I find 155 is the right place for me. I am bulking up so I'll see where I fit down the line. I'm 5'9.

It also depends on where you are. Where I am, there is a lack of wrestling, and most of the guys here are strikers (the city has alot of MT gyms, and the 4/5ths of the MMA gyms are former Muay Thai gyms), so overall most of them are taller. Lightweight is filled with guys around 5'10-6'1, and featherweight is with guys around 5'9-6'0. The countryside/rural side are more grappling oriented so they're a bit shorter.

145 looks like the ideal thing for you
I have your size but all i can is 155, if 145 force you a lot you should do 155
