Movies Ichi The Killer (2001) vs Lady Vendetta (2005)

Both masterpieces, the face of extreme cinematic gore but done with sense. Which do you prefer?

"Lady Vengeance" is the better movie. "Ichi" is the better acid trip.

I don't think ichi was a great film but it was a unique film. Ichi made films like terrifier, saw and hostel possible.

Agree with this. Lady Vengeance was decent but a step down from the other two

Ichi the Killer wasn't a great film overall and kind of weak compared to other Miike films I've seen, but still extremely memorable and I dig it if only because Kakihara was a great character

Miike's best movie (imo) is 13 Assassins, but the international cut (the Japanese cut has a subplot of the creature assassin raping dudes which is not my cup of tea).

Ichii was a Manga comic or something, right?
In the original character, is he a real killer, or is he a coward?
From what I remember the movie suggests fraud/coward and I believe I had heard the Manga character is a real deal killer.

I hated ichi on first viewing but it's grown on me with subsequent viewings. I haven't seen lady vendetta.

lady vengence is the worst of the vengence triology by far (sympathy for mr. vengeance is the best).

Ichii is gory pulpy goodness, a miike calling card. But it is one of Miike's best. as a fan of Miike and tadanobu asano it doesn'ts a gem.
