I wanted it after Max slept gaethe. Max looked great at Lw -- he should have never decided to cut back to 145lbs after bulking to 155lbs. It was a horrible career decision in my opinion. He should have forgotten illia and 145lbs and went for Islam instead. Now, after just getting slept in the weight class below, him fighting for the LW title doesn't make sense.

I'm sure they did, but I was calling it a bad move back then, and I'll continue to call it a bad move. Bulking up and then dropping back down is almost never a good idea, especially for guys like max who already went through hell to make weight. I wish max took a stand and just dedicated himself fully to LW after beating gaethje.
