Currently watching the documentary Mr Warmth. But I've spent the last month or so watching Rickles on YouTube when he was on every talk show and interviews.

I can't get enough.

Anyway.....

My condolences

I'd say Rickles, Dangerfield and Norm are my favorite comedians followed by Dave then Burr.

The last of the fringe rat-pack. Is papa-elf from Elf still alive? It's those two.

Rickles may have been a virgil in NWO level member of the Rat Pack, but it still counts.

Wait, did Don die?

Amerikuracana, I’m a friend...it’s over. Buy a horse, go live in the mountains somewhere, and don’t bother anybody.

So he's dead then?

Fine. I'll check.

Yep 2017.

Is it bad that I forgot this?

He was one of the last fringe members of the rat pack. Sorry if that bothers you. Bob Newhart is probably dead as well.

Oh.. And you ain't a friend you basement biatch. I had dinner with old friends tonight. 4 of my 6 kids really like me around, so your pansy azz will have to wait about 16 years.

I miss "The Merchant of Venom"...definitely one of my all time favorites. Mean as hell too, his nickname fit him well.

No malice behind his comedy. He loved and made fun of everyone equally. Legendary man, legendary lessons. The modern day is desperate for certain aspects of the old school.

His career had perfect timing. When he was younger it was an age when the PC Police didn't exist. By the time comedians started getting attacked for their offensive material, Rickles was a very old man and therefore was let off the hook.

Some of the jokes he made about black people would not be received well from a younger white guy in 2020, that is just a fact.

You mean some younger white guys who are racist in private would pretend to be offended to signal virtue and prove they are willing to be disingenuous to get ahead? Is that what you meant? Because actual non-racist people would just laugh and not worry about it.

a man of integrity... an intense guy... one of a kind...

Rickles, oh the memories
clown prince of vitriol comedy
with a heart of gold
he couldn't exist in the present 'cancel culture' sadly
another icon to be missed

He seems to get a lot of respect but I've not found him to be that funny.

His most famous joke was that he told a guy that he had a face like a hockey puck, which maybe that was an amazing joke in 1951, but unfortunately I heard it in 2004

the curse of youth IMO
he insulted everyone and anyone, even Frank
though he kissed Sinatra's ass afterwards
still worth it.
he was murderously funny
