Wrestling is inefficient body slams with full weight while BJJ works on the joints.

In MMA? Or a grappling match?

Bc there are a shit ton of wrestlers with heavy GNP.

Spoken like someone with absolutely no understanding of wrestling.

Take this shit to the grappling forum and get schooled.

MMA rules and time limits favor the wrestler. The fight starts on the feet and its hard to submit someone in 5 mins. Spider vs Chael 1 is a great example. Took almost 5 rounds to get Chael tired enough to make mistakes so Silva could pull the triangle off. Wrestling is also the most exhausting aspect of MMA so a high level wrestler will have a cardio advantage if they turn the fight into a grind.

in what? On a hard surface I'd favor a pure wrestler, on a soft surface I'd favor the Pure BJJ fighter.

In MMA the wrestlers have trained submission defense, and the BJJ fighters have trained wrestling.

Yeah cause it's not like wrestling doesn't also teach you how to control your opponent...

For fuck sakes people there is no martial art better than the others. That was and is McDojo lies. There are better practitioners of their art and that's it. A wrestler can control a BJJ guy. A boxer can KO a Mauy Thai guy. Both can be vice versa or any combination. Any style can beat any style if you can apply it better than your opponent can apply their own. That's what fighting actually is.

Easily. Wrestlers are strong af .. bjj practitioners are usually soft pudgy noodles..

One big issue recently I would say is that we've had far more great wrestlers move into MMA than we have had great BJJ fighter. We always get talk about BJJ being neutralised because some guy who picked up a purple belt whilst training MMA couldn't sub a wrestling champion yet when the likes of Werdum, Jacare and Maia get introduced things look very different. The trouble is that BBJ becoming richer and the UFC running MMA like a cash cow with limited investment in new talent means we haven't seen many elite BJJ fighters switch sports seriously.

by learning jj for defence obv, and then using the wrestling
