Canelo was never the most active boxer out there but if you compare his recent fights to his MW ones, it's like night and day.

Looking back, Canelo's workrate started taking a dive when he moved from 160 to 175 to fight Kovalev then moved down to 168. He never shedded the extra weight and it completely changed his fighting style: less punches but more power.

His first 6 years of fighting he was fighting 5-8 times a year. 2011 he fought 4 times while WBC 154 Champion
2012-2019 he became a name, and did what all names did in that time, and fought twice a year.
2011 he fought 4 times in 11 months.
I'd put him in the more active than most box. 68 fights in 20 years is good. 3.5 fights a year average.
