yesterday after bjj i had a sore elbow that only hurts when i straightened it out and lock it straightened. i have all normal functions, can bend it , lift stuff etc etc. but when i extend it straight it hurts.

this morning its the same feeling, only the pain was alittle more severe when i extend it. its normal for any other thing though. when fully extened and locked out it feels like an almost fully extended arm bar that youre on the verge of tapping to. in 8 months of bjj ive never hyper extended an elbow, but ive gotted my labrums torn, and bones fractured. so i'm wondering.. is this what hyper extended elbow feels like? cuz shit just pretty much goes away on its own , right? funny thing is i didnt get submitted in an armbar yesterday.. the closest was a kimura.

when i cant tap out in time to an armbar, my elbow aches a lot. definitely hurts when fully extended but hurts in more positions than just that.

hyper extended elbows in my opinion & experience with getting one you will seek immediate attention when u get one when i hyperextended mine i passed out due to my nerve gettin displaced. id def go to a doctor to make sure.

You will feel the pull on the inside of the arm between the forearm and bicep. Rest will take care of it. Maybe some pain killers, anti-inflamitories.

i got it on both my elbows.... you know whats gonna suck? every time your laying in bed and your arms straighten out, its gonna freakin hurt!! lol...

after like a month of babying my elbow.. i straightened it out in bed so i can pass out but then my arm had a sharp pain and it feels like when i get hurt, it feels loose, and takes a week to feel back to normal

now my elbows feel a bit tingley from thinking about it... damn

I forgot to tap at my BJJ class to an armbar. I don't know what the hell I was thinking but I kinda just sat there thinking to myself "Damn this is really starting to hurt". The poor guy applying it thought he wasn't doing it right and just kept slowly adding pressure.

That was last November and my right elbow still hurts.

Yeah, sounds like hyper extention to me. Depending on the pain you may, or may not need to get it checked out, listen to what your body tells you there.

My experience with them is with rest the pain eventually stops. Roll all the technique portion of the class, and depending on how you feel roll free roll, but baby it. Tap any time someone gets near it.
