How would have Brock vs. Fabricio Werdum gone?

Werdum was way more well rounded, but Brock had a strength advantage and would've been nasty with GnP.

I could've seen it with Brock going for a double leg early and Werdum not even resisting too much. Brock gets out of early guillotine and armbar attempts. Brock messes up Fabricio's face a bit until the round ends.

In the second round Brock is a bit winded. Fabricio scores a few strikes in the standup and Brock instinctively shoots and gets on top of Werdum again, but at this time Brock doesn't have so much energy. Werdum capitalizes, then gets a submission finish - likely a guillotine.

I feel like around that time, 2008 to 2009, that Brock could have pulled it off, since it seemed like Werdum was kind of inconsistent around then. But if it was Brock post surgery then definitely Werdum.

Brock did a good job of improving his top game and submission awareness after losing to Mir the first time, but I don't know that that's enough. It's too easy to imagine Werdum frustrating him with an active guard and aggressively attacking him in the clinch or with kicks at range.

Brock would be live as Werdum had some odd outings... but I think Fabricio has the answers he needs.

Yeah I'd see it going down pretty much how you describe it; similar to Werdum vs Cain.

i think Werdum could probably knock him out on the feet. not out cold, but hit him in the face and he closes his eyes and starts break dancing the way he did vs Cain

Let's not forget Werdum submitted the GOAT ground and pounder, Fedor. Werdum invites Brock into his guard and submits him with maneuvers that Brock doesn't even know the name of

Werdum via an arm related sub; especially if they’re both clean.

I always loved watching prime Cain's elite hand speed when he wasn't wrestling.

Brock would take him down on his own terms, land good position like vs Mir from where Werdum doesn't have many options and grind him down
Werdum never faced anyone as strong as Brock while having nasty GNP,i dont think he would want to be stuck on his back for long period of times. He should look to keep the fight standing winch is still risky with 265+lbs men looking to punch you(Brock broke Herrings fucking face with 1 shot) but still better then being on his back for lot

Thinking that because Brock gnp'd Frank Mir that he could do that to Werdum shows just how people have no idea how to tell the difference of levels between grapplers. Frank struggles with strength guys, and his ground game isn't centered around fighting off his back.

Brock would have very little chance against Werdum. Werdum is both just a greater fighter (top ten, if not five all time) and a stylistic nightmare.

50/50 IMO both with clear path to win, I would slightly favor Brock but I feel Werdum was a bit better prime x prime
