Just dropped 250 on 16oz winnings for sparring should be here tomorrow, how should I clean the outside after a sweaty practice? Currently for the past few months I used twins for sparring but I dont clean the outside only the inside and now that I invested in some winnings I would like to do everything I can to keep them clean PS I ordered the white leather ones 😅 I also ordered the headgear so whoever has experience cleaning that please inform me, Because when I clean my current gear I just wipe the lining off with lysol wipes and then spray

Do not use magic eraser thats for sure since that removes a lot of the coating on the outer of winning gloves...Seriously just wipe it down if you want...but to be honest you're just going through new gear euphoria...you're not going to care down the line...you might even like it as it ages over time and gives you that sense of..."that's a result of my hard work"...just like new cars...you want to polish and shine them constantly for a few months and after a while you just live your life normally again lol

Omfg dont use lysol wipes, dries out the leather causes it to crack. Worst thing you can possibly do! All u need to do is get a dry towel and wipe off the sweat. for extended care if u want to make ur gloves last a long time, keep the leather from cracking etc. There are leather wipes that u can buy in ur local auto store. Cost about 6 bucks. Use a wipe once a week, let them dry. If they arent use a simple cloth towel to wipe off the excess so ur partners dont get it in the eye.

yeah youre probably right happened with my twins but i just dont want the leather cracking and i wanna get 5+ years in with these

No, when i do my weekly gear cleaning washing the wraps, glove maintenance, mouth guard cleaning, etc...
I let my gloves sit on the floor and i wipe them down with the leather care wipes, let them sit overnight then pack them in the bag when u are rdy to hit the gym again. They should be 100% dry. The leather wipe residue should have soaked in by then. Shouldnt need to wipe it dry.

I have weiman at this time got em from walmart.

I'm not sure if a single pair of gloves will go 5+ years lol. The padding will only last so long. But that all depends how much u use ur gloves.

Multiple pairs and cycling them out will extend the lifespan.

Don't bother trying to clean the outside. Just wipe it down with a paper towel. Now you need to worry about the inside. I suggest wiping the inside with a paper towel and making yourself some good ole glove dogs.

Glove dogs are simple to make. Get a pair of old socks stuff em with some cedar wood chips and tie them off then shove them up inside the glove after use. AFTER EVERY USE.

Yep, or u can get glove dogs online. I bought mine off title. I hafta disagree though, I like keeping all my gear in great condition inside and out. I'm like with everything I own guitars, boxing gear, all my military gear.

So should I do anything prior to wiping the glove with the wipe? like something to wipe off the gunk/sweat residue that gets built up?

No if u are wiping them dry after the gym there should be no gunk lol. And no the wipes are a safe cleaner/protectant for the leather.

Link to them online? You're sure they don't remove the semi gloss winning coating?

Also a link to good quality yet cheap glove dogs would be nice :) or cedar chips whichever is cheaper lol

Guys u are completely over thinking this. This is specifically designed to clean and protect leather. I use them on my $4000 leather couches as well as my Reyes and they still aren't "Destroyed" :)
But if u are skeptical simply wipe them off with a cloth and skip the leather treatment. I would advise from using any Lysol or windex or anything else you have previously used to clean your gloves in the past.

For glove dogs I have these: http://store.titleboxing.com/glovedogs.html they work awesomely! This will not ruin your gloves either :)
