All of my favorite forums have either died or are dying, the last of them are going down now because inflation the owners can't afford server costs because it's not worth it. So feels like all forums are on borrowed time, most everybody posts in facebook/groups now. How much longer do you see this ancient relic of the internet lasting? It's crazy I still see join dates of 2002 on here.

The Sherdog forums are backed up weekly to a super server in the same building they store all those seeds for the post apocalypse. In the Artic or somewhere. I am not privy to the location because I didn't purchase a Platinum account.

I have no idea. Hopefully a long time. A lot of sun-forums are inactive, and the UFC forum has slowed down quite a bit.

As long as MMA stays alive sherdog will stay alive for a long time. A few photography forums I use to go on are still going strong. I haven't been on bb.com forums in ages so I have no idea what's going on there. Is the misc section still a thing? When I was hardcore into sneakers/street wear all the forums from the mid 2000s are gone. Hypebeast and ISS were two big ones. I think Nike Talk still exist but haven't checked. Flyertalk is still active for saavy travelers. I use to go on a forum when I played Diablo II, counterstrike, street fighter. I'm guessing all those forums are gone or dead.

Somehow after all these years (including a few years of lurking prior to opening an account) I'm still on sherdog despite my lower interest in MMA compared to the good ol days.

Thanks for the shout-out.

I hope Sherdog outlives me.

Yeah traditional forums across the Internet are either dying or dead. Quora and reddit are growing but they're basically just supersized forums. I personally prefer Sherdog, so I hope it doesn't die.

Shame about reddit... Massive forum that has the ugliest, most difficult UI to follow on the internet. Talk about an eyesore.
