I've been reading this is a rather common occurance when being hit hard in the eye area. I've always wondered about it, because it happens to me sometimes during sparring. Usually during a good left hook it will make me blink and I'll see flashers (like a flash of light or stars), its not the same as actually seeing stars while being flash ko'd or seriously hurt but just a split second flash of light after being hit in the eye area.
It seems this is caused by the fluid in the eye rubbing the retina and sending a false signal to the brain of seeing light. Just wondering how common it is for other people or if its just something that varies with every person.
