How mad is Cruz that he's on the undercard for 269?

I mean, he's a former champ who has been dismantled more from injuries than from opponents. The Garbrandt loss wasn't pretty and Cejudo embarrassed him, but he rebounded with a win earlier this year. Other than the title losses just mentioned and multiple years off due to injuries, he hadn't lost a fight since 2007 and has an impressive record still at 23-3. He's part of the broadcast team and UFC typically shine the light on their fights: Felder got the main card slot for his last two fights as well as his own Fightpass show for the RDA fight.

On the other hand, Dom hasn't even been getting a shout out on the last few cards when advertising 269. This must sting a bit for him -- he's been on the broadcast team for years now, has a phenomenal record and is still a top 10 fighter at BW...yet he can't even make the main card.

I've never been much of a fan, and to be honest I find him too whiny and inaccurate as a commentator, but I would think he'd at least get a main card push. Knowing how bitter Dom can be, I bet the undercard slot pisses him off immensely, especially seeing as other BWs such as O'Malley and Garbrandt are on the main card above him. O'Malley isn't even top 15 and Garbrandt has lost 4/5.

Extra Salty Dom coming in to wreck shop at 269, guaranteed.

Doubt he cares, he's earned his dues anywhere in the sport.

Him 'n Munz are 2-5 combined in their their last fights right?

So Mad he made Kissy with Hans and is Holding Monster Balls again...

You don't think it stings a little? I think it does.
I think it has more to do with accepting 1 win in the last 5 years as reality.... plus all his other gigs.

He wins, he's obviously right back on the main card anyways. Obviously before the 2016 break he'd be like... wat da fuck but he I was 38 in his march win, and 33 the win before that. I lived in a different state, worked for a different branch, didn't have a new car, didn't tell people to eat a dick about mask usage lol.

Too much gone by.

The opposite : It's like the Diaz argument lol. Why the fuck it main card if he ain't won in 10 years? What a world.

I think you're mostly right, but these guys paid their dues. It must be easy to look at main cards and wonder why you're on the undercard.

They are still milking o malley who beat a unranked fighter

They like to beef up the undercard when they can and Dominick is being used to elevate the prelims in this instance.

I seriously doubt that he cares and I think that he's thankful that a fighter ranked higher than him gave an opportunity to climb the rankings.
Ya. He’s in a decent spot for someone above him to accept this fight because he’s a name.

He ain't above all those more active fighters, or in draw -- and I've watched Cruz since 2007 and his Faber loss. I think they showed a ton of him on AXS -- or whatever it was called -- HDNet back in the day. The obvious WEC/UFC run to champ is incredible.

I've blown out my back ONCE... and my KNEE ONCE. How this fucker hops around all nimbly bimbly after all the shit he's recouped from to me is the craziest part.

End of the day, business...

Casuals will see O'Malley and Mas -- I could easily replace those fights with Cruz, but Cruz is also fighting Munhoz who's dropped 3 of his last 4.

So here you have inactive fighter (not denying greatness) -- against someone facing possibly being cut or on the early prelims. Sucks, but time flies.

Anything but sturdy as a fighter, the Dom has been absolutely "dominated" by injuries - commenting is a better gig for him (far more consistent as an announcer).

Garbrandt's been on a losing streak but at least he's been fighting.

Question remains will he retire after this fight? Ufc would never want someone who's injury prone as a champion, plus he's weathered now, so if he wants to continue fighting up and comers to feed his ego that he "still got it" all the power to him I suppose.
