Rashad actually won tuf season in heavyweight if I am not mistaken, has noteable wins over Rampage and Griffin. Lost to Jon Jones by decision.

My question is how good was he? Would he earn the 185 lbs belt if he did that back in 2009? Could he beat prime Anderson Silva?

Literally what is with these fucking threads asking how good UFC champions were? Are you braindead or something?

Both Evans, and Machida were undefeated when they fought. Wtf?

Imagine having a 16 year old account, and having to ask anonymous assholes if somebody was any good. Shut down your account. This is embarrassing.

Great fighter. Won TUF as HW and won UFC the belt as a LHW despite being naturally a 185. I don't think he could beat Anderson though.

was he going to fight bellator but never happened??

A relatively short but high peak.

I personally think he was 5th best in the Chuck-to-Jones era, ahead of Forrest and behind Rampage, Shogun, Machida and Hendo. Others put him a tad higher. This is not an insult; being only slightly behind these legends is huge, and proves how great he is.

I don't believe his win over "Hollywood Rampage" makes him "better" than Rampage, when you compare peaks, careers, or Goat status, or anything else other than "he was better that night".

Probably lower top 20 all time LHW. Some may have him lower top 10.

Was very good.. but Jon Jones joining his gym really mucked up things..
He was undefeated.. then he lost his belt, lost his gym, went through a divorce.. he was never mentally the same

He was a LHW.
He was the champ at LHW, and lost the belt to Machida (who was also unbeaten).

IMO he was a good fighter. Not great, but good.
I was very much a fan of him!

Very good. Sadly, his prime didn’t last too long and people forget he was once one of the most dominating LHWs of his time.

He was a 195 pounder caught between 205 and 185. Great wrestling, above average boxing, elite pro MMA career. Had an excellent run in his prime. Then he started getting injured more, I recall some bad knee injuries that probably started with the Lyoto KO.

If you are comparing him to other UFC champs he is good, not great. If you are comparing him to the UFC roster he is great. The total pro MMA scene he is elite.

Rashad was on top in his prime and was making goofy faces once he fell off.
<mma2>
I think he's making a big mistake in trying to come out of retirement.

someone needs to pull that permanent stick out of your ass, miserable as fuck lmao.

I think his best performance was against prime Phil Davis. Was a masterclass in mma.

fight was thought to be boring but I was always impressed how he outclassed Davis. That performance was a work of art really.

How good was the former world champ? At one point he was the best in the world.

He beat Tito, Chuck, Hendo, Bisping, Rampage, Forrest, and Chael. He hit Chuck so hard Chuck could never take a punch again.
