Been binge watching alot of classic and holy shit he's been part of ALOT of them, hes the only guy in ufc history to fight in four different weight classes super badass. But I was wondeeing what the older guys who kept up w MMA during the time thought of him, was he an exciting can or was he actually legit?

Him vs Melendez and Guida are gifts from the JBG <2>

Rumble also fought in 4 weight classes

Diego was good, he was never finished in over 30 fights, only that doctor stoppage vs BJ.
His competition wasn't the best, but good opponents: Nick, Karo, Kampmann, Gomi, Florian, Guida.

He is fighting for so long and he has 41 fights in MMA.
Not few, but compared with guys like Reem, Moose...

Sanchez was good in the 2000s era of mma. He just never evolved. Poor takedowns with no striking, and an ever diminishing fight iq.

His gnp was monsterous and his jj is great.

Guy went the distance with marcelo garcia in a grappling match.

He was very good. Technical guy, his fight knowledge was good. He came up with a good class of guys from the show and he was a stand out.

Damn.. Isnt garcia one of the goats?

He was a nightmare matchup for anybody I reckon. Everybody feared the dirty Sanchez back in the day for sure.

He was the same

It's the competition that evolved

Old dog, new tricks, you know how it goes

K. Florian fought in 4 divisions

He was a beast back in the day for sure. I thought he had a legit shot at taking the belt away from BJ Penn when they fought through pressure and superior cardio. Of course, it turned out to be a complete beatdown in what, in my opinion, was Penn's best performance.

Not good enough to win a legitimate decision over Pearson and Kampmann.
I'm still salty.

But yeah he was a beast.

diego was awesome. even on TUF he beat solid ass names. great cardio, and he was a pressure wrestler. he broke guys plain and simple. from MW's to WW to top LWs sanchez was the man.

yeah hes no longer a top contender and he didnt get the belt, but look at his wins. impressive as fuck for a resume.

diego should be HOF without that clay fight. Very 1st Ultimate Fighter winner. everyone thinks its forrest because the bonnar fight.........thanks kenny

I'll call it the way it should be callled-
Diego was a good fighter ......maybe MAYBE -slightly better than that. He was fortunate to be one of the better fighters coming from the first tuf and fighters hadnt evolved the way they do now .Always an exciting fighter , tough as hell and did try to get better.

Wasnt great, his conditioning and toughness is what got him far, lost pretty much all his big fights
