Is he better than Bruno Silva?
or worse?

Bruno Silva went toe to toe with Alex Pereira and lived to tell a story about it.

Better in some ways, worse in others...need to see him fight more at a high level to get a better gauge.

Bruno Silva went to a competitive decision with the "champ" Pereira but got subbed by unranked journeyman GM3 - styles make fights right?

I'm picking GM3 but wouldn't be shocked if Pyfer caught him early.

You'll know more tonight.

I think he's got a good shot to catch GM3 early but could be in trouble if he doesn't.

Gerald is meant to lose to guys like Pyfer and the Chen Chen just like Elvis Sinosic was brought in to put Forrest and Bisping over.

I know why they made the matchup. It doesn't make the outcome a given.

i have no idea. today is the first time i heard of him.

I actually picked Gerald because he is a crafty, wily vet but it's really hard not to picture him getting starched again. Hopefully my gut is right on this one.

Same thought process over here. I think he's got a shot if he can take this to deep waters. Early on, he might be sent to the shadow realm.

He was on Dana's Cantender series and it was the first episode of the new season (last one i think) and he was the only one that got a contract all the other fights sucked. So Dana hyped him up and came out with the line" Be Joe Pyfer" so he is basically one of Dana's newest children. Dana even got him a house to stay at as i guess he was homeless.

he's pretty decent and pretty aggressive. He has one win in the UFC since the Cantender series. Gerald should be a good test.

cool, thanks for that. now i can say i know joe pyfer. even if i can't be him.

I can’t see Pyfer ever being a top 10 fighter in the division.
