I'm thinking about possibly purchasing a pair soon and I would like to know the quality of the brand. Also, how are the sizing of the shorts; do they run big or small? Thanks.

Hopefully someone with more experience with MT shorts will chime in, but I think they are solid. I found a design I liked a lot and waited several weeks for them to arrive from Thailand. I ordered way too big based on the size chart. A Large is plenty roomy for me in Fairtex and I think that would have been a good size for me in Raja as well. If I remember correctly, I ordered a XXL and they were enormous on me. Ended up selling them on eBay. I'll probably try to pick up a pair of the same Raja shorts from MuayThaiFighting the next time I need gloves.

Got 2 shorts, the sizings are good. Nice around the waist, longer than normal in the legs with plenty of width to move around. No problems with high kicks.

Saying that, the quality is crap. The stitching is coming undone in several places, the glossy patterns faded quickly and the satin has torn on one pair as well. This happened within a month.

Wow, damn that doesnt sound like very nice. I'd allways hear that Raja was good quality stuff, I guess they were just trying to sell shorts lol.

Yeah. To be honest though, they're probably better off being customised with your name etc for fight shorts rather than ones you'd wear to training every week.

I get custom shorts made up from a tailor for about $60AUD. Much prefer doing it like that, you can get whatever you want then.

BOON has the best quality hands down. Unfortunately they don't have that great of short designs.

I never wore Raja, but when I went to the Raja store I noticed that the quality is crap compared to Boon or Top King, and not to mention Fairtex ofcourse.
My favorite are Top King, they are a notch above all in terms of style and comfort.

I've got a few pairs of Top Kings as well, I've found that they're a much better quality pair of shorts in design make but they tend to drag along my legs when I throw anything high. They could definitely be made with wider holes for your legs.

When you say crap quality what exactly was different about the Raja's?

From my experience, and I'll probably guess his too, is that the fabric is very thin compared to Top Kings and the stitching isn't of a high quality. With my Raja shorts I can hold them in front of a window and see the light outside. With other brands I can't.

Lol, wow, so they're made of paper thin satin? Also, is it true that the glitter on the shorts fades rather quickly?

yeah paper thin is just about right. also, between the patterns on the shorts and the satin itself, if you hold it against light you can see a lot of holes where the stitching is, making the quality even worse. top king shorts don't have that.
yea it lost its shine really quick. as i said earlier, not that great to keep around for long term training shorts. better off as fight wear.

You may want to consider buying nylon instead of satin.

Satin shorts are used more for fight night.

Nylon shorts are really good for training bc theyre ultra durable and they dry really quickly. For nylon shorts, any brand is pretty much the same; just choose whatever design looks the coolest

The Raja Label on the waistband of the RAJA shorts frays and comes off WAY too easy. Other than that they are great. They look good and cover my ass.

I got a pair of HAN muay thai shorts from Custom Muay Thai Shorts, Thai Boxing Gear - The #1 Custom Boxing Store they have all different brands including raja, siamtops, han, and thaismai.. My HAN's are great quality and pretty basic style compared to raja and siamtops.. but the quality is superb.

Yeah, I like that site a lot. I ordered some custom Siam Tops Thai shorts from them and was very pleased with the quality of the shorts and the job they did customizing the shorts.

Did you buy the Satin or the Nylon Raja shorts because I want a pair of satin ones. Also, do you agree with the other posters about the material feeling cheap or thin.

So, any more thoughts or comments about the quality of Raja Thai shorts? I'm thinking about buying a pair or two in a couple days.

how did those shorts end up working out for you?
i just got a pair of Raja shorts in the mail and the material definately doesnt seem thin at all (satin).
i guess the stitching and designs arent quite as pretty as they looked in the picture but other than that they seem like good quality shorts.
well see after i train with them for a bit.
