How far can Chris Curtis Go at 170?

DDP is generational talent and won 20 of 23 his fights by finish. He finished both Whittaker and Izzy, two former champs.
2 of these 3 fights are against Sean and one of them was SD with many major outlets and majority of fans on MMA decisions thought he lost.
It wasn't easy and even if it was easy, noone except Khamzat can repeat it. Top3 Imamov was completely outmatched by Strickland in their bout.
You strickland fans do so much COPE it's insane.

What’s the upside of Chris Curtis going down to 170? He was game at 85, but did get outsized. Can he crack the top 15 Welter Weights? Hmm!
He beat up a tough Max Griffin tonight fellas!
I can see him as a journeyman that's hard to look good against but not someone that ever gets to title contention

Not too far. Especially if he keeps sparring exclusively with light heavyweights.

He looked very slow in there.

He also looks like he could probably make 155, but he’s gotta work on the speed and movement. Dare I say, perhaps even learn to do something other than below average boxing.

His fighting IQ is just low. He has the skills but seems to not really plan out how he's going to expend his energy throughout a fight. I think if he planned out scoring points better he'd be in the mix. But I don't have faith he'll put it together.

He's a really mediocre fighter. he can pad fight night undercards but thats about it

He can be the new Neil Magny

Curtis has the same setup as Gamrot - they can go to a competitive decision with a world class opponent or a random guy from the audience.

Keep in mind Griffin has been TKO'd once in 18 UFC fights and it was his debut 8 years ago. He is not a fighter you're going to put away with a striking match.

IMO Curtis will be just fine at welterweight, but he's too old to become a title threat. He'll have a mix bag of fun and shockingly low fight IQ performances.

He faked a groin shot after getting dropped to the body, effectively robbing his opponent. I'll let you guys form your own opinion on that.

If I was one of the judges, I would've tried to DQ his bum ass at my discretion by prefilling Max's scorecard with the win.

I always say if a fighter is not great, let him at least be entertaining. Unfortunately he is neither. He is a decently skilled journeyman who has no intention to cater to the public's desires, as is his prerogative. But yeah, to me he is a total buzzkill for any card.

nowhere, he's terrible. guy has more trouble pulling the trigger than anyone else in the ufc.

He’s old in fight years, 38 fights before he even came to the UFC, and 45 fights total, I’d say was a more experienced fighter whose on the downslide…

Anyway, onto more important things War Brown and his hellbows
