Crocodile Dundee gets a 4K release 3/11 (not 11/3 you fucking morons)

Subtitled as The Encore Cut, there is one big difference in this version - they have removed the scene where Mick grabs a trannies junk in the bar. And the later scene where he does the same.

It's censorship to the point that Paramount themselves requested the scene be removed in order to get a 4K release, and everyone involved agreed, including Paul Hogan:

'I heard about it years ago, it started, it wasn't about being woke. They pointed out to me and said, 'This guy is a folk hero around the world. He shouldn't be groping people.'

And I thought, 'Yeah that's right, he shouldn't be', so take it out. I mean, he did it in all innocence, in naivety, but it's better without it.'

Thoughts?

I don’t like it but filmmakers do this all the time. David Fincher is super OCD about it. He added drops of rain, removed a piece of hair from Gwyneth Paltrow’s forehead, etc. when Se7en got released on 4K.

I blame George Lucas as this phenomenon seemed to start with him.

I really don't care.

But if it is a big deal to bother groups, just include two version, or add it to the deleted scenes
I think that is why there is so much protest about it (from middle aged white basement dwelling men), that the original version will now cease to exist

This was my first thought reading reading the OP

I don't like changes either, however this one is cultural or political, rather than just tinkering

That’s why you just keep the Blu Ray.

Apparently UK male prisons will reach 100% capacity in November. Good time to be a nonce over here as they get lesser punishment than people writing mean tweets

One of the best parts :(

That's not a d*ck , this is a d*ck

I don't really like when movies or games and whatnot do this kind of thing. Leave things as they were made when they were made as an homage to when they were made.

Like I was listening to a buncha 80s punk this past weekend and you can see it in stand up as well ....the way fraggle gets thrown around is pretty wild to behold if you haven't gone back in time in a while. How do people measure how much things have truly changed if we whitewash everything to what's offensive by today's standards.

Kinda want old movies to stay looking like old movies so that you can see how thats changed and progressed as well.

Also I feel like this is how you slowly drive people mad. Just make little tweaks and changes and fuck with their memory.

I don't feel strongly about crocodile dundee so much as I feel strongly about fucking with the past.
