House is so good. If you haven't watched it yet then do that now.

Rewatching house. It's been long enough that I've forgotten most of it, and it's so fucking good.

Those of you who haven't seen it don't know what you're missing.

I wish another TV show would have this level of writing someday.

I agree. I rewatched it a couple of years back. It's well done and quite funny. Plus I love Hugh Laurie.

Best part of that show is Olivia Wilde ;)

I think the first few seasons might've have been excellent but like every other series it erodes in quality after.

This was the same era as Pysch and early Big Bang Theory which both are guilty of my description above.

I tried it a few years ago. It was too formula driven for me. Its been a few years, but as I recall it's:

Patient comes in with a rare condition.
House reluctantly/begrudgingly takes the case.
They try 5 things that don't work.
The patient is near death.
House either has an epiphany, or wants to try something dangerous.
Someone doubts him despite always getting it right.
He's right.

Interestingly I knew two ER nurses who loved the show. They had kind of seen everything and would try to diagnose the patient before house. They claimed they were about 50/50 between them and said the conditions were pretty well researched.

I can't wait to leave this period in popular art behind that, for the most incomprehensible reasons, has sought to conflate being the most sarcastic person in the room with being the smartest. It's not a joke, even, this has done serious damage to our culture. You see endless comments from young people on social media who think they're smart because they snarked. House M.D. was one of the worst offenders.

If I wanted to see it done right, with tongue in cheek, I'd go rewatch Dr. Cox in early episodes of Scrubs before they attempted to complicate and humanize him. That's how you do this right. Just mindless entertainment.

I did like the show but it went on to long. TV shows really shouldn't go beyond 5-6 seasons.

My ex was really into the show, she made me watch the whole series with her. It was pretty interesting, as someone who never watches tv shows, I recommend it.

My wife and I just finished House and we definitely enjoyed it.

It is funny though cause my wife who is studying to be in the medical field will randomly tell me what practices the doctors or nurses perform on the show that are now out of date or tells me how complex the procedure they’re performing is.

House was the first show I started watching on the new, huge family TV about 15 years ago. Will always have a place in my heart.

Prefer Monk though. Similar era. Background TV.

ironically this show is responsible for raising an entire generations self health awareness.

My GF kept watching it for a few seasons. And from what i saw, every single episode was exactly the same..

The doctor being rude and sarcastic in a "funny" way.. people dont being able to figure out whats wrong with the patient, until the main doctor in the end having right in the end. Getting to say "told you do".

...aaaand repeat

Outside of House none of the other characters were very strong or interesting to me.

It would have made the show more interesting if they showed consequences to his actions before the final few seasons.

I was surprised that House was British just like that Psycho, Batman

That's funny because House was a miserable piece of shit 🤣
