I just bought a condo and I'm getting ready to move in at the end of the month. If I was renting, I wouldn't give a shit if my furniture matched or what my paint looks like, but seeing as I own this place, I want to be able to show it off. Does anyone have any website recommendations to get some inspiration?

Go to lots of different home decor stores. Buy a bunch of home decor magazines. See what you like. If you're still too inept to pull something together, hire a home decorator.

living room needs a big screen tv and a proper couch.. you are welcome..

If you want to make your decor unique, don't go the standard "couch, tv, white wall" routine. Instead try something different such as bean bags chair (there are few different types), big art center piece instead of tv, art works, unique wall color or decor, and other things.

Also you'd be amazed by how big of a difference lighting can make. So be sure to have few lamps with different lights (some more bright, other dim, etc...)

May find something to revolve the idea around?

At my old place, I revolve my room around movie 300. I have the wall painted light grey, bright red curtain, bright red bed sheets and blankets, black and white photographs on the wall, and dark wood shelves. The light was sorta dim and have more yellowish tint to it to make the room look like as if it was lit by a torch.

A friend of mine did burlesque/pin up theme, she have funky colorful couch that she re holstered, coffee table matted with various pin up girls picture, furniture from 40s or 50s, and other things.

you got any firearms? Guns on gunracks make a home feel spacious and classy

no.

here's a good site to give you some great ideas of where you may want to take things. (of course you could always do bean bag chairs and movie themes if you choose to live like that)

there are thousands of great resources out there to help you give the place an inviting, comfortable, and manly (I assume you're a single dude) essence.

my tip is to decorate it off cragslist or something like that because if you meet a girl or plan on getting married, she is just going to throw all your shit out anyway

Pinterest. Lol.

That was actually pretty helpful, thanks! I haven't been on the site in a long times. I got some decent ideas

I don't even own A gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack.

LOL! So true. For all you younger guys out there, just remember that any chick you start going out with is going to see your man cave and start coming up with a plan to convert it into her personal tampon storage closet. You won't even see it coming.

Another thing you can do it just use google. If you kinda have an idea of a general color you want a room just google image search it. "Grey Bedroom" or "Modern living room" "small living room" "bedroom lighting" etc. Can get good ideas just doing that. You'll get a crap load of pics of some cool living spaces.

The original Sell This House show gives ideas on how to stage your house for very little cash. Staging isn't exactly the same but close enough. You can find full episodes on A&E site I think.

If you're broke and want really cheap ideas maybe Apartment Therapy.

This will be the most quoted post in this thread. And I totally agree. That is part of the reason why I never really bought much. When my wife and I met I had a TV, two couches, a desk, and a bed. I still have the bed. The rest is gone.

i was just going to say pinterest as well. my wife annoys the shit out of me with all the crap she constantly shows me on her phone from that site. God i hate it.
