I just got happy wishes from Jarule and his forum members for being an OG member. Logged back and now, its a soccer forum. That and in bodybuilding forum, their popular section is their own off topic section.

It seems like the most popular sub section of every forum is the off-topic section. Curios to know how Mayberry was created. I ask because this is 2000s Sherdog and no mayberry:

It was originally suppose to be called Mount Airy.

I remember visiting the ot a decade ago and even then people were already bitching about the old ot was better than the new ot. The ot is the vitor belfort of forums.

Mayberry was a fictional town in Andy Griffith. It was based on a real town called Mount Airy.
Ripskater is a man of good wholesome shows so he wouldve gotten the reference.
 
OT was fun back in the day, but we flew too close to the sun.

To answer your question I think it was made for people who didnt want to call each other queers all day like the Off Topic forum.
 
The orgins of the 'Berry start simply enough. The fucking thunderdome that is the OT caused too many frail losers to become even weaker. Those frail losers started to slowly post more and more threads about their relationship problems and how they "almost" got in fights. The mods battled fiercely in the great war of 2002, and won a hard battle. A bastion was then created for the soft penised effete dandy men of Sherdog in the form of the Mayberry. Every once in a great moon, a chest hair laden, testosterone riddled, 6 foot 3 inch tall with a full head of hair, scourge from the OT will infiltrate the walls of the 'Berry's ill fortified city, only to be beaten back my the mods with unrelenting force. The 'Berry is a safe space to post your most ridiculous thoughts, and only be ridiculed lightly, therefore making us dumber as a whole.

Mayberry is a safe place for incels and cousin fingering goofs to make up stories about fake women in their lives. I like off-topic posting but I guess I haven't had 150 things to say yet. I used to get free plats but now it's just a bunch of queers like tete on staff
 
They only kept giving @Fawlty plats because he agreed to stop sending jerk off videos to frumpy western european lady posters and to only post on offshoots under obscure aliases
