I think its an interesting match up. Jones has arguably better striking, but Werdum subbed Gus easily. Could Jones keep it standing?

Gun to your head who are you picking and why. Best versions of both

Hard to say because even now we still havent really seen enough of Jon at HW. The Gane fight was brief and against a guy with an obvious weak spot to exploit, the Stipe fight Jon looked pretty good still but also slower and more hittable than in his prime, and the opponent being a 42 year old who hadnt won a fight in years and moved like a sloth makes it hard to really put the performance in proper perspective.

you need a HW who has great striking and great grappling to beat jones

I would say Werdum.

Had power and decent kickboxing, and if it hit the ground it's favor him a lot.

I think JDS smoked Jon Jones too

JDS has curred and quit, multiple times, EVERY time he faces adversity. Makes me sick to look at him.

Jon Jones RISES TO THE TOP, and SOLVES THE PROBLEM, every time "he" faces adversity.

Jon Jones wins. Period.

UGHHHH!! I hate to even think this much less say this bc I absolutely hate JJ, but nobody beats jones at HW. Even Aspinall, once he tires out from the adrenaline dump in the first round, Jones is gonna make him look silly. I've never wanted to be more wrong so prove me wrong Tom. Please beat JJ u are literally our last hope.

Sorry got off topic, Jones beats Werdum standing and I honestly think he would ground and pound him even with Werdum's ground game

I HATE JON JONES!!!!!!!

Bad matchup for Werdum. Jones picks him apart on the feet and Werdum can’t get it to the ground.

I think Jon can absolutely outstrike Werdum and probably land something big in the clinch if needed.

Jones would absolutely destroy Werdum on the feet. Werdum wouldn’t be able to take down Jones either and even if Jones decided to go to the ground with him, I’m not that sure that it would be an advantage there for Werdum

I think we'd figure out who would win depending on who got their foot on the pedal first, so to speak. I think Jon would be wary of the grappling and would keep the fight standing but Werdum has been known to go into berserker mode which has been both effective and costly for him. It's an interesting match up.
