I know it’s mainly European and Americans here: we have a few Canadian fellow. At Tom Horton they serve a good variety of dishes , from donuts to soups. And sandwiches. Hell there was even poutine at one time. Since the chain has been bought by Burger King. upload_2022-10-16_10-21-53.jpeg

I'm Canadian and I find it REALLY overrated. Part of its selling point was that it used to be cheap, but that is less and less true. Constant wrong orders, almost everything they serve is just good, not something I'd go out of my way for. Overall not a bad chain - pretty mediocre. Kind of sad that it is a national icon.

Also, isn't not even Canadian any more? Owned by some big American fast food chain?

Their food is shit. I don't drink coffee and thats their jam, but i have no idea why they are so popular. Its trash and over the last 2 years its not even cheap trash food. Worlds driest breakfast sandwhiches, its like the buns are made with sand.

I dont get the love for timmies but a lot of people are crazy for it up here

I used to go relatively often when I was living in Canada. In fact going to Tim Horton's to get a steeped tea and a couple of timbits was my ritual after classes in the afternoon back in undergrad

Part of its selling point was that it used to be cheap, but that is less and less true.
That's a shame. I remember it being affordable for a poor college student that I was. I've always preferred Tim Horton's over Starbucks for that reason

My wife used to go all the time for that reason, because she liked the sweet coffee drinks (which they had basic ones of), and over time she noticed that what used to be a cheaper alternative to Starbucks keeps inching out in price. I think their donuts (in bulk) are still cheap, and they don't cost QUITE as much as Starbucks and whatnot but, their prices keep creeping up. You can still get their basics for not much though, I think, so if you want to gorge yourself on coffee and donuts you'll do OK.

I mean, I'll say it again - they're not bad. Their stuff is fine. Just kind of so-so. Their prices not being rock bottom any more just adds to the "meh" factor I feel over Tim Horton's. And don't get me wrong - prices going up are fair enough. I just don't think the juice is worth the squeeze any more.

It's just a coffee shop. I have no idea what drugs they're putting in their coffee and donuts, that would make legions of people in this country line up in a river of shit and piss to get a double-double from them, though. It's insane up here. Drive thru line ups spill into the streets on the daily. Plaza parking lots with a Timmy's near by are a fucking hazard. It's likely cost scores of people their jobs, because they will sacrifice being a half hour late to line up for a hit of that sweet sweet Tim Hortons in the morning. Shit, in my town, two people have been killed in traffic accidents due to this one TH, that connects to the highway. Not a joke. People literally risk their lives for this shit.

I seriously don't understand it's ridiculous popularity, and I never will.

I live in Canada so yeah i go once in awhile..their coffee is junk no clue why so many people like it..wraps and sandwiches aren't bad in a pinch..decent breakfast when you're traveling

Getting a good coffee from Tim Hortons has been few and far between for a while now. Rarely go there anymore

I'm not impressed with Tim Hortons either. The sandwiches are nothing special - cold cuts, baguette... very easy to make yourself - and expensive. The wraps used to be decent but they've cheapened them (less meat, and no beef) since they were acquired by Burger King. They removed baked beans from the menu. My local Tims don't carry the chili for some reason. They also stopped making soup during the pandemic and every visit it's like a coin flip whether they'll have it or didn't even bother making any. The coffee is average, nothing to go out of your way for. That leaves the baked goods, which their only point of superiority vs. other fast foods. It's really bad compared to a real French bakery though, and there's plenty of the real stuff around. If I'm going to eat something sweet, it may as well be worth it.

Im not a huge Tim Hortons fan. I dont drink coffee or any of their fancy drinks, the donuts arent worth a damn, but the rest of the food is ok.

We do take our kids for donuts every now and then though. Tim Hortons sponsors hockey and soccer for the kids here, so we do throw a few bucks back to them in the form of buy the kids a treat every now and then.

Timmy Ho's coffee is really bad but their donuts and sandwiches are much better than dunkin donuts.

I used to drink Tim Hortons exclusively, until they allowed their coffee suppliers to go to McDonald's.

Now every single time I eat Tim Hortons I immediately feel the need to take a shit shortly after.

These days I either opt for Starbucks or McDonald's coffee.

Went to one in Manhattan. Cup of coffee and maple john. It was fine.
