Has Khabib ever said a nice thing about Aldo?

Just saw the old clip of him saying he would never let Conor touch his shoulder like he did with Aldo. It seems like every time Aldo's name escaped Khabib's mouth it was just to dis him. You'd think he'd have a lot of respect for him, but I can't remember a single positive comment he's ever made about him. Admittedly, that would not be as memorable as the negative stuff so if anyone has anyone examples of him saying something positive, it'd be cool to hear it.

Khabib kind of avoided the Aldo fight and got called out for it. He knew Aldo was a bad match-up. It is what it is

“[Aldo] did ask for Khabib,” White said when asked to clarify Aldo’s interview. “He wanted to fight Khabib cause Khabib is looked at as the guy in that weight division. Khabib’s dad didn’t want him to fight. Khabib’s dad wants him to rest.” - Dana White

Either I'm imagining things, or I saw them not that long ago on a photo together on IG.

Khabib ranked Aldo in his personal Top 10 of greatest fighters ever. There is no denying both guys respect eachother.

I think he put him very high in his recent greatest of all time list

That's pretty silly. If Aldo wouldn't have lost the belt to Conor maybe that fight would have happened. There was no point in making that fight and Aldo's chances of winning that would have been almost zero
Aldo has the best takedown defense of all time. At the very least it would’ve been Tibau vs Khabib 2. The most grindy wrestler in existence Merab couldn’t get him down at elevation. Kabob would win simply by hugging.

Khabib is so much bigger than Aldo and his chain wrestling/take down ability is probably the best we have ever seen in the history of mma. He would have taken him down and brutalized him

Actually there is some context here. At that time the entire world wanted to see Khabib vs Tony who were #1 and #2 respectively fight for an Interim title. Esp. since Conor announced he will be taking time off.

Tony protested lack of pay so the UFC tried to go in another direction since they are cheap bastards. Khabib was offered Aldo but refused since he knew Tony was the fight to make (which quite frankly it was). Basically both held to their guns and tried to get this fight made.

Also Holloway was the Interim Champ at the time, so Aldo had other business to attend to as it is. At the time Aldo only had one UD win over Edgar since being KO'd by Conor. We all knew a win over Aldo would have not meant as much as a win over Tony.

I don’t think so. It would’ve been a wall and stall affair without a conclusive winner. Tibau had similarly stellar takedown defense and nothing really happened.

LOL based on what? His extremely skewed body of opponents? I'm sorry but repeatedly taking down RDA is not some impressive feat. GSP/Jones were INFINITELY more proven against other elite wrestlers than Khabib was feasting on strikers. Might as well call Demetrius the greatest submission artist of all time for getting a flying armbar... oh wait, that was against Ray Borg FFS. Quality of competition matters and Khabib doesn't even have a top 20 resume of all time. Fact.
