Has Fedor ever discussed fight mentality?

In light of GSP’s own admission:

I don’t speak Russian and basically too lazy to convert web interviews so I am asking the diehards.

I honestly believe all fighters enter a fight with the fear/nervous butterflies, no matter how good they are BUT, either Fedor just managed them the best or popped some anti-anxiety meds(JK) but want to know if he ever talked about this on a HUMAN level?

My gut says he never has ONLY because he loves the notoriety of his accomplishments.

Anyone?

This quote has been thrown around as long as I can remember. idk if it’s legit or not, unsure of the source.

“Years ago we hardly had anything to eat. Now I earn more money and I see every opponent as a man that tries to put me back to that poorer period. That man has to be eliminated” - Fedor Emelianenko

"When I walk into a fight, I'm trying not to think about anything; collect myself and concentrate. And going into a fight, I don't feel any emotions, neither anger nor compassion. I don't emotionalize. I'm going into a fight with a clear mind... During the fight, my senses dim and basically I don't feel any pain"

"The time when a fighter starts to consider himself great is the time when he is going to lose. A world class fighter who thinks he is great can lose to even a lower level fighter."

"You fights or you dies"

Fedor was so used to squaring off face to face with another man since his army pit fighting days as well as Sambo. By the time he got into mma, the idea of combat competition didn't phase him because it became natural to him, he was a programmed terminator machine. This plus the cold weather helped to forge the man into what soon would become the legendary goat of mma.

Having his mindset without his skills would probably get most of us killed or imprisoned.

these are the kind of things that added to the reason why fedor was considered an all time great by many. He made sense. He was disciplined. He did things the right way with mostly the right mind set. It was flawed and i think that flaw (religious belief ) ended up hurting his career more than helping it.. But he said and did things people would expect the greatest of all time to do. We see jon and it just doesn't make sense. What could he be if he made better choices? Its hard for us to relate to as fans. When you fuck up you fail. when you dont work hard and train hard you fail. Jon gets away with it. Fedor was never like that. the guy ran like 9 miles a day. All his training footage inspired so many athletes and was so ahead of the curve compared to what others were doing. No heavy weight moves like fedor. He grapples like a bantamweight. He flows with focus and confidence. everything is calculated and efficient. I still dont see hws like him today. Cain moved well imo but was a level behind the way fedor moved. dc moves well for a hw but does not have the same fight iq or ability fedor had. I think the next hw great is going to be someone who can move like fedor did. Use throws and trips the way he did and have the speed and movement he had. His takedowns are my favorite to watch. a true master martial artist.

He did in an interview with Bas. Bas said fight game was 90% mental and Fedor said it was 100% because even the decision to get up in the morning is mental. Don’t have the vid handy, sorry.

It was from a PrideFC interview before one of his fights, similar to how the ufc uses a few black & white filmed video quotes before the ppv starts.

He is Russian, thoughts and feelings are for soft Europeans and North Americans.

Fedor's mind is calm, clear, and ready to engage in violence of the highest order.
