has anyone in ufc history every had a decision overturned via an appeal?

Few and far in between. Rumble has a loss due to eye poke, and the commission wouldn't overturn it.

Weidman got stopped by a legal blow.

Compare that to Rumble who got stopped by a completely illegal blow (eye poke) but they couldn't do anything cause there was no replay or 'polling' at the time where the fight was held.

were those fights overturned from a fighter APPEALING the decision?
well, you could click the links :)

1. "Due to the factors involved and after receiving Mr. Andrew Dober ́s formal appeal, CABMMA has defined a fourth provision...."

2. "After receiving Francimar Barroso ́s formal appeal on November 19, 2016, the Brazilian Athletic Commission (CABMMA) has done a detailed analysis of the newly implemented "Instant Replay" guideline as a tool to insure fairness in...."

and so on and so on

They dont want to admit that they make mistakes.

It's amazing they overturned Lenz-Oliveira and not,for example, Faber-Rivera or Ellenberger-Masvidal. Those guys shouldn't have that TKO loss on their record.

I have seen many "overturned" in fighter records, i was watching Dana´s reality show, apparently Serra vs Din Thomas was announced as a win for Serra, then overturned as a win for Din Thomas, so shit can happen.

yes. that was one of several times when the judges simply did wrong math. didn't add numbers down a column correctly.

another example was DJ v Ian McCall - they announced a DJ win, and afterward they realized it was a majority draw. so maybe in that case it may not have been a math problem (like the Serra bout was) but possibly they thought a 28-28, 28-28, 29-28 wasn't a draw.

Or like Woodley vs Thomson, but those were corrections still in the cage, but i have seen some decisions overturned, Chris has a chance to get a NC.

ya that was funny. i was sitting there yelling "they're wrong, it's a draw." and then i corrected myself with "except it's also the first event in NY, and there's a chance there is no majority draw in NY, so maybe they're right. holy shit." i seriously confused the shit outta all the casuals in the room lol
