Social Has anyone ever went to a jollibee restaurant ?

I did a few times when I was in the Philippines. Pretty good quick Filipino food. I enjoyed just about everything they served in that country, but I'm an adventurous eater. Jollibee is the way to go if one is a bit more picky about their types of food.

Plenty of times travelling in the Philippines mainly because it was cheap. Didn't think much of it at all, though. Weirdly, they've opened one in my home city, Cardiff (Wales). Always quite busy, had no idea we had such a big Filipino community here.

Would give it a shot based on how good Ding Dongs are.

I've tried it before, it's shit food.

edit: It's not terrible the chicken, it's decent at best 6/10.

Don't you have the highest number of Somalians in Europe too?

Plus the Principality Stadium..

;)

Probably yeah - shitloads of Somalians in Cardiff alone. Huge community, been around for generations too.

Fillipinos are in everyone's Navy.

The chicken and pies are mad good. I can't mess with that spaghetti though. It's not pasta sauce. It's some sort of sweet ketchup. There is one near my parent's house. Filipinos understand white rice and fried chicken pairing along with gravy. It's a pretty hearty meal.

There's one in my home town, which has a large Filipino community because of the Navy. I was eager to give it a try, but it was disappointing. They have a wide variety of items, but I wanted the fried chicken. The chicken was OK at best, the roll was awful, and the gravy covered rice was probably the mediocre highlight. I've not been back.
They aren't suffering from my disdain though, the drive through line frequently wraps the building.

My nephew took me to one in London. It wasnt bad but definitely prefer KFC chicken. Their gravy was better though.

From the opinions I’m seeing here it seems to be an OK fast food chain , maybe the fact that they have a lot of varieties to offer doesent make them the best or having a specialty in one particular area

One opened here in Edmonton in I think fall of 2019 and it was the first in Canada. Edmonton has a huge Filipino community so the line ups were insane for like 6 months, you couldn’t get near the place unless you were willing to wait hours for your food.

I finally tried it in I think about March of 2021. It was… fine I guess. Wouldn’t put the chicken ahead of Popeyes, Mary Brown’s or KFC. And nothing else looked appetizing. Their spaghetti and burgers looked like shit. But I’m not surprised really, I’ve never gone for Filipino food but I’ve heard it’s like the worst cuisine in all of east Asia.

I didn’t know there was one of those in Canada , I might check if it arrived near Quebec. Might give it a try in the near future even if the comments here suggest it’s not that appetizing lol
