Edit Update: The rumors of a new Halo MP-only game similar to Fortnite appear to be baseless unless they're saving that announcement for the last day of the Halo World Championships. The only game they announced was the new CE remake. You can skip to post #6 to see the trailers.
Announcement will be tomorrow (1PM PST 10/24/2025) at the Halo World Championships. Leaks indicate it's not anything remotely Halo at all. It's likely a piece of shit battle royale Fortnite clone. It's believed to have a 2026 release date.
On top of that, they're remaking Halo CE...even though they already remastered that game in Halo MCC. The game that wasn't remastered in MCC that won't be getting remade/remastered? Halo 3, which is by far the most popular game in 2025 within the MCC, probably commanding ~70% of daily multiplayer players in the collection, more than all the others combined, and as such, likely averages more daily players as a standalone game than Halo Infinite, now, as the MCC overtook Infinite nearly a year ago as the most popular Halo. Further, the rumors have been that they aren't even doing anything interesting like the spiritual remakes Sony has done that are ground-up remakes of classic games that re-imagine the game, and introduce new content/twists/storylines like Demon's Souls did with the PS5's launch. No, the rumor is they're simply rebuilding the game in Unreal Engine 5 with a "hybrid engine"...which, again, completely violates the spirit of Halo as the BLAM & Havok engines were central to the game's physics and gunplay. They are what made it so unique. Halo in UE5 isn't Halo. I don't care if it's been hybridized. Apparently 343 is only doing some of the work, and it's been outsourced to a third party studio.
Finally, in step with their disastrous move to end console exclusivity which immediately preceded the Xbox Series X/S tanking to the point they're being outsold globally by a margin of 9:1, respectively, by both the Switch 2 and the PS5, both games are reported to be coming to PS5. So that's good news for the Playstation guys, but another facepalm wtf moment in the shitshow that has become the Xbox brand.
New Halo Live Service Multiplayer Game Inspired by Fortnite Reportedly Leaked
Hope the rumors I've heard are wrong about this, and at least what is announced is more interesting than what I've heard. I just have no faith in Microsoft or 343.

New Halo Live Service Multiplayer Game Inspired by Fortnite Reportedly Leaked
A new Halo live service multiplayer title has been leaked and could be announced soon by Microsoft. If true, the new online Halo PS5 game will be similar to Epic Games’ Fortnite and will focus on monthly updates.
This latest update comes from prolific Halo reporter Rebs Gaming. In an October video, the insider revealed that sources had recently told him that Microsoft is working on a live service Halo multiplayer title. Where this rumor gets really interesting, though, is that this same source is the one that leaked the Halo CE Remake, which has now been verified by multiple major outlets.
Even more interesting is that Rebs Gaming reports that the live service Halo multiplayer title has been compared to Fortnite. “A live service, long-term updating multiplayer game is in the works. Its live-service component is like Fortnite.” Although Rebs did caution that the game might not necessarily be an actual Battle Royale. “There was no mention of it being a Battle Royale or other specifics.
So the leaker may have just been using Fortnite as an example of the Halo multiplayer project having persistent content updates.”
Hope the rumors I've heard are wrong about this, and at least what is announced is more interesting than what I've heard. I just have no faith in Microsoft or 343.
