Then again the average criminal is usually an impulsive r*tard so could be that it has nothing to do with him being Indian. Heck Hindus and Sikhs get attacked when mistaken for being Muslim so could be something like that.

That's horrible, I grew up Muslim in that era and I'm very grateful I never had to deal with extreme stuff like that. Maybe a rude classmate or two but nothing serious.

It's really sad, must be because of how visibly "foreign" and "Oriental" they look even compared to the average Muslim.

I'm not exactly fair-skinned but if I shave I can pass for a swarthy white which is probably why it wasn't so bad for me like it was for Sikhs.

There was a lot of hate, and a lot of people throwing fuel on that fire. I was actually educated on different religions in Catholic school and knew the differences, I had a Muslim classmate for 5 years while in Catholic school, he'd read from the Quran to participate in religion studies.

On a brighter note during and after high school the Indian guys at the convenience store by my friend's house used to teach us curse words and pal around with us

The wife and kid did try to stop him several times. At points they were within like 2 feet of him and also trying to grab him. But he would turn toward them and threaten with the machete. There is literally nothing they could have done unless they had a gun or weapon or basically bum rushed him defenseless on a suicide mission.

The guy was larger than the women and kid and had a huge machete swinging wild. They attempted to stop the guy bare handed. Just watch the video - there's nothing they could have done.

Muslims in the states are far more accepted IMO than Europe because they have integrated into society much better. As a group, they have high educational achievement, entrepreneurial and also give to charity at high rates. They do well here.

But in Europe, they've had such a high degree of refugee types from war torn countries with little education that they end up not integrating. Instead, they end up in what becomes ethnic ghettos and that is a breeding ground for extremism - not all of course, but a small subset that ends up tarnishing all 2 billion Muslims worldwide.

People that haven't been in those situations don't understand the flood of emotions that happens. While obviously FAR less brutal and horrific, I've been a small child watching someone getting brutally beaten in front of them to the point I thought they would die. Later on I was fucking gutted that in the moment I froze up and didn't do anything to stop it. It took therapy years later for someone to explain to me that it's just not reasonable to expect an 8 year old to know what to do in a situation like that. Sometimes life gives you situations with no good choices.

Good guys with guns probably don't like indians all that much.
However, decapitating someone and carrying their head around is seriously fucked up stuff to do, no matter whose head it is. I can only see it as somewhat justified if the dead guy molested attacker's little kids or did something equally vile.

Europeans are actually Indo-Europeans, so racially closer to Indians than Arabs even if darker skinned. A lot of Muslims though like Iranians are also Indo-European ethnicity but historical converts to Abrahamic religion. Its really more likely that a big dude with a big beard and turban isn't going to be liked and mistaken more easily for Isis or Taliban.

Yeah of course they tried desperately to help, the little bitches on here trying to cast stones at them are more likley the ones who would be cowardly in similar situations. The son could have maybe tried a hail mary football tackle from behind at the end, but most likely we would then have had two deaths not one. Easy to criticize watching from sidelines of a camera than the scene of a murder.
