Most people on here do not remember, but George took fight with Hughes on a 30 day notice. His physique and performance was all time-best in that fight where he put on the most dominating beating on Matt Hughes. His UFC 74 fight with Kos was August 25th -3 months behind him, so if someone insinuates he had had help going in to Kos fight, he would not enjoy riding that help in December 29.

He never failed any tests either and fought and beat Hendricks with additional testing. He was 100% clean for that fight and has been proponent for out-of-competition testing, which was not supported by Zuffers.

Look to fighters who have taken fights on short notice(and with delay from their last fight) to really weed out juicers.

Btw, how many short notice fights have PED users have taken combined?

I don't follow your logic. People can obviously take PEDs all year round, including shortly after a fight.

Silva took Bonnar on short notice and Bonnar pissed hot.

Never a GSP fan but as time goes on it's harder and harder to believe that he didn't step away because of all the other fighters abusing PEDs.

I think 170lbs Anderson Silva with no roids would beat Stephen Bonnar. Everyone knew it would be 1st round ko. It was such a terrible mismatch.

To add context, Silva was offered fight September 12th- his last fight was July 7th and fight was scheduled October 13th.

That gif shows how good Georges was, Hughes was a strong dude

Its well known that GSP was training before the fight was made, in case either fighter dropped out.

No one who is that physically well built and can easily go harder for 25 minutes than anyone else is beyond suspicion.

I believe his point (though not expressed very clearly) was that if gsp was juicing he wouldn't be able to accept a short notice fight because of the issues with cycling the steroids out of his system. Not sure if that argument holds water as they were probably only testing on fight night back then - but I don't know.

Personally I think GSP was clean but this is 100% true.

I don't think it really means much either way. The testing was so lax that I think most guys could cycle off even for a relatively short notice fight

I respect GSP's (late career) anti-PED stance. I think that it is great for the sport in the long run. I hope that he was clean throughout his career but none of us can know for sure

Well Wand took the Cung fight on short notice too...

I'd say 8 weeks is short

Stupid reasoning is obvious

That means absofuckinlutely nothing.
Many compounds have short lives in the system..

So?

Silva fought Bonnar at short notice, and Silva came back clean on that one.

What a great thread.

Maybe, but how many fighters train as hard or year round like gsp? Obviously you can't say for sure, but if your going to look and be in shape like gsp and not be on something, then you better train like a maniac all year long, and GSP does that. I have not seen any other fighter that works harder than GSP and that takes his profession as serious as he does
