GSP says his current walk around weight is 190 lbs. This may be the biggest GSP so far in his career (Just from looks)

In March 2005 (one year before Penn fought GSP), Penn fought Lyoto Machida in an open weight and Penn weighed in at 191 lbs.

Were GSP and Penn around the same size when the fought in March 2006?

did you see GSP's legs in the recent Rory promo videos? jeezus.

I'm talking about something else because it's obvious that BJ is flabby and GSP isn't. probably around the same ring weight, yes, but not the same strength.

It's been said before. He actually normally weighs 190(so he has said). I believe it. The difference is His walk around weight is around the same as his camp weight because he's always training.
Where as fighters you hear about being over 200 as their walk around weight....They aren't training and living it up on alcohol and fast food.

Last report I saw gsp was 185-190 and actually 183 after his workout. Muscle is more dense so a person with higher body fat would actually appear larger than a guy with lower body fat but same weight.

Penn could make 145 with a diet program. He's an average size lightweight, arguably much smaller than the bigger guys at 155. GSP is a large welterweight who has essentially tuned his body with sports science to be a prototype for others to follow.

The physical gap between the two of them was substantial.

I never saw the BJ machida fight, but I suspect that Penn was fairly flabby at 190 - while GSP is like a rock

I'm pretty sure someone from GSP's camp said he was 193 or something against Shields.

According to sources at the time, GSP was in the ring at 187 pounds while Penn was 173.

Are you blind? Because I can't explain how you do not notice the difference of size between Lyoto BJ and WW BJ.

They expected him to get in at 193 but he ended up being 190. The heaviest GSP has been in the octagon was 192, against Hardy.

His last 2 fights (Condit and Diaz) GSP was 185-187 pounds.

I don't have any secret information. I think GSP wants people to believe that he is smaller than he is because he wants to avoid fighting Anderson. Eventually GSP will be telling us that his grand parents appeared in the Wizard of Oz as members of the Lollipop Guild.

GSP used to be up around 190 195
from what i've been reading lately he's back around 185 190.
Penn was probably 175 180 max for that fight. GSP was around 185 190. So probably a 10 15 lbs weight different. GSP is around 9% body fat pretty much all the time. BJ was around 15%. So GSP probably had an extra 20lbs of muscle on bj

This man knows his sh*t. I applaud fellow poster. Few actually keep up with. For real 10/10. Everything he said seems is correct.

This is BJ vs Machida

Machida was huge compared to BJ, but I still think you can see it on Penn's face when he's carrying a little extra weight.
