Godzilla vs the Cloverfield monster

I think Godzilla from Minus One is actually a relatively small Godzilla (they can get to be 100m tall, or much larger in one case) with the smallest being something like 54m tall) and outside of an explosive breath weapon and regenerative abilities, it actually seemed really stiff and slow. It also got
its head blown off by relatively low payload explosive weaponry and damaged by 1940's era ship cannons.
I'd imagine they made it quite weak to reflect that its adversary is a relatively poor and vulnerable Japan. Probably gets beaten by most Kaijus in a fight.

But, it's like asking "Who would win in a fight - The Punisher or DC's Plastic Man" - power levels of a written character have little to do with how good or bad a character is.

never watched Cloverfield. How large is the monster? I only recognize the Godzilla in the movie that had Matthew Broderick in it. That thing was massive.

And after more googling I think TS must be high. The cloverfield monster is orders of magnitude larger than any rendition of Godzilla

I think that only one instance of the Cloverfield monster is bigger than the second from the right on this chart (Godzilla Earth, I think it gets called):

That one larger one is substantially bigger, whereas the rest of them are all quite small compared to this Godzilla. Godzilla Minus One's Godzilla is probably near the far left on this chart.

Edit: Yay for image posting errors!

From what I read, the cloverfield monster is between 3000 and 6000 feet tall when fully grown. Apparently the one in the movie is an infant though so perhaps it's much smaller. Like I said, I've never seen the movie

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm getting at... The largest Godzilla (Godzilla earth) is around 1000 feet tall - and that's more than triple the height of any other Godzilla, and even that one is dwarfed by the largest Cloverfield monster who (as I understand it) only shows up once in some after credit scene or something. The Cloverfield monsters that get screen time are the size of mid-to-large size godzillas - so, probably smaller than Shin Godzilla, but larger than original (or -1) Godzilla.

Ultimately though, it's all nerd shit that someone made up. Some guy could write a Godzilla that is 10,000 feet tall tomorrow just for giggles, and then some opposing nerd write a Cloverfield monster to be 15,000 feet tall with a robot from Pacific Rim riding it like a horse.

Godzilla has a freaking nuclear death ray coming out of its mouth. It takes the Cloverfield monster quite easily.

Of information
See now this changes things.

The breath apparently can be equivalent to 28 teratons of TNT. The cloverfield mon doesn't have anything that comes close.

Also damn you TS for uncovering my inner nerd that I'd suppressed for a decade

I read that that one was later changed to a different species lmao
Yeah… I’ve heard people say it’s not a bad movie if you go in not expecting to see Godzilla. Maybe that’s true. As a kid I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. He doesn’t look, act or have any of Godzillas defining features.
