Media GOAT Manager Ali takes swipe at Masvidal

So Jones is making 5 million a fight for 8 fights?

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Considering he fought 4 times in 15 months, he is making 40 million in 2 1/2 years.

And I expect Masvidal is full of shit.

He was bragging about his pay and new contract just before the Diaz fight. He was mighty happy then. Now? 7 months later? Hmmmm

It's really hard to give an opinion without actually seeing the numbers involved.

Dana seems like a piece of shit when he brushes aside any questions about this matter with the "we don't force anyone to do anything" "he just doesn't want to fight" type bullshit.

But fighters like Nate and Masvidal seem to be trying to milk out their current hype, knowing that they really aren't that good and will lose any bargaining power when they eventually lose.

I really don't know whose side to take. I'd have to see how much revenue the UFC or particular fighters' PPVs bring in and how much of it is actually being given back to the fighters.

Ali is whatever you want.. but the dude is the best manager in the game.

Usually takes the biggest scumbag to be a hell of a manager . From what I seen , a majority of his guys seem to be happy with their deals . Shit person but I would want him as my manager tbh .

Grey Maynard awful vocal latley

But isn’t that the crux of his argument? He made 500k to fight Nate but was offered 250k to fight Usman. That makes him consistent in that he was happy with that check.

EDIT: I found the ESPN story where it says he was offered the same as the Diaz fight.

Is there for a source for that? I read that he was offered the same as he was fo fight Nate.

Masvidal is completely fine with his pay, just doesnt want's the kamaru ass whoopin and that's understandable for a journeyman

But he says he was strong-armed into signing an 8 fight contract and that had he refused he wouldn't have got paid.

I read it SOMEWHERE. Gimmie some time to dig it up.

No prob maybe that was their initial offer, I read here on sherdog that they ended up offering the same as he got to fight Nate but he still ducked I mean turned it down

where are you getting that info from? Dana? I take both of their words with a grain of salt but I’m leaning towards Jorge on this one.

You answered your own question :)

so he got 500k for nate which he was very very happy with and bragging. then he gets offered 500k to fight Usman and suddenly its not enough.

And that's the cruz as to why he is full of shit.

If you didn’t notice, I edited that comment because I wasn’t aware the final offer was 500k.

This is why a union isn’t necessary

All you is a good manager representing many different fighters.

he’ll be able to negotiate best deal for his clients

Look what someone like David falk did to the nba in the 90s.
