Hi all,
looking to replace my Revgear 12 ozers with something quality. looking for solid wrist support and a tight fit. I like what the Hayabusa Tokushu's supposedly offer but am not convinced on the Vylar thing. Any input would be appreciated. I am 5'8 140lbs practicing Muay Thai and Combat Sambo. Leaning towards 16oz for all purpose

Also was wondering how much of a difference there is with the shorter BGV1 thumb vs the curve on the BGV6...
EDIT: My coach recommended the Combat IMF gloves with gel. Im not sure how i feel about it given that if gel were such a revelation everyone would be wearing them

Hayabusa is going to have better wrist support because of the dual-closure system they use. I have slightly smaller hands and I always found the hand compartment to be a bit roomier on the fairtex gloves (BGV1 model)

If you're doing Muay thai, you might find it easier to clinch with the Fairtex gloves because of the shorter cuff. Really dont think you can go wrong with either though.

Thanks Ryyonvin. Im leaning towards the BGV1 Breathable since i hear its a tighter fit. As much as i like the hayabusa in theory something about synthetic leather for the price...

Don't necessarily peg synthetic leather as a cheap, cost-cutting alternative. Winning, one of the highest quality and most respected brands in boxing equipment, uses a synthetic leather for their head gear, and charging $250/$460 for them.

Granted, Winning aren't using the same synthetic leather you find on the el cheapo department-store Everlast gloves. Some synthetics are better than others, and for some applications, the high-end ones can be just as good as leather.

Fairtex all the way. BTW. I have a few too many of them :-)

BVG9 are huge compared to the BVG1. I prefer the BVG9, but I am pretty big and have big hands and I find them spacious (mine are 18oz though, so not sure about the smaller sizes),

If you want to know anything about them, or photos of them next to each other or anything let me know

I have small hands and small wrists and the best support I get is from the Tokushu. I've had no issues thus far with the leather.

I have a pair of Golden Gears(Fairtex factory)as well. Can't go wrong with either one just saying for wrist support the Tokushu's are great.

With small hands and small wrists I'd pick the Tokushu gloves. Great protection

I hear ya, i was a goaltender for most of my life I'm very familiar with jenpro and clarino and all the synthetics from a water-resistance standpoint. just something about it with gloves makes me go hmmm

I will shoot you a PM, you may be my best bet haha. I did look into GG but im sticking to hook/loop the ones on their site are elastic

Now if only those kanpekis weren't as expensive as they are attractive...
