In Glory 40 we have Yodkhunpon Sitmonchai representing Thailand who doesn't deserves a Glory contract. This guy cant even beat foreigners under muaythai rules. He's literally one of the worse fighters at that weight who is internationally known. Why isn't Superbon, Yodsanklai, Buakaw or any others taking his place? Isn't Glory supposed to be the best of the best in kickboxing?

Then we have Petpanomrung. A Thai whos had only 4 kickboxing fights facing Roosmalen who shouldn't even be at 145 and him not making weight in his last fight shows this. He should be at 155 against Marat or something. Now that's a great match up. Pet needs more experience and still needs to grow into that 145 weight.

So to put this in prospective you have a Thai that can comfortably fight at 130lbs in there against a Dutch fighter who can probably comfortably fight at 160. Really unfair match up. Is this some type of propaganda tool against Thai's to show the world that Thai's are not dominant or something? Replace Yodkhunpon with Superbon and tell Roomsalens bitch ass to stop crying about that Sittichai fight and move back up to the weight he's supposed to be at.

It's not propaganda... RvR chose to fight at 65 kg and Petpanomrung won the contender tournament so he is the right guy to fight RvR, just how it works in glory. It's not a bigger mismatch than RvR vs Varga.

Yeah yodkhunpon will never be a champion but hey, the rest of the division isn't that good either. Glory must belive it's good from a marketing point of view to have a guy like Yodkhunpon. Otherwise they wouln't keep bringing him back after he broke his nose and didn't fight for a few years, and after he dropped out of his last fight.

Superbon is busy fighting in Kunlun. They should sign Chingiz Allazov though. If they want another thai at 70 kg i'd sugest Manasak, Yodpanomrung or Littewada

I'm seriously giving some thought into fucking quitting this forum.

Who else wants to move somewhere else?

Comfortably at 135. A bit too big for 130 anymore.

RVR is not the champ tho so why does he have to face him? RVR was stripped of the title when he couldn't make weight.

Yeah and then they decided that he would be given a title shot because he is still ranked #1 or something like that... If he fails to make weight again he might not get another chance

The Kakutougi forum is nice save for the fact that it doesn't have a big thread for talking about MT.

As for TS, there was some mix up with RvR where they usually give you calibrated scales but they had him in some hotel with a normal scale, and then he refused to cut the extra bit from the scale difference. Hes not a huge 65er or anything he was just being stubborn. Petpanomrung is an amazing fighter coming off a win over a former champ and a contender tournament win. Seems like pretty straitforward matchmaking.

Sign of weak and inconsequential posters when a white belt and a few others can apparently "ruin" the forum because they have a different set of opinions. A lot of shitty threads around, but why is it always something about Muay Thai that gets to you?

If you hate us so much and this place sucks, go and do something about it. I recommend thinking about something neat in kickboxing and make a thread on it. I won't touch it. Is that so hard? You're butthurt and bothered because nothing interesting is being produced from your group with Karaev fan and maybe shadess being exceptions.

So let me get this straight, you're upset that a Thai that's gotten plenty of attention on here for years due to his fights in the stadiums is getting a title shot against a notable Kickboxer.

This is something to get upset about? What gets to me is the absurdity of your arguements. You are all acting like some sensitive social justice warriors and its embarrassing.

I find it funny how now I'm being portrayed as some kind of anti-Thai poster...

Petpanomrung just won a contender tournament. Clearly, he can hang with kickboxers at 65kg, but if he didn't want to fight for the title, he shouldn't have entered the tournament that is supposed to determine the next challenger. And were he to win, would it not, if anything, show the dominance of Thais? That such an inexperienced and undersized fighter could overcome a rugged elite of the sport? Glory could go grab any number of mediocre or over-the-hill Thais, and since Thais are a monolith, just like with Yodkhunpon, spectators would still be unable to distinguish them from the best fighters.

As for van Roosmalen, he made the weight previously and beat the champion before him and the last contender. If he can't make weight, Glory has shown that they won't let him have the belt. Anyway, who else should fight for the title? The only other person coming off of a win is Chikadze lmfao...

"Thailand has more talent than the rest of the kick fighting world combined."
"Thais by percentage do better in kickboxing (154 and down) than any other country."

These are the types of posts that seem to piss you off, as well as other posters. But it's weird, because I think you guys agree with these facts, it's just you don't want them to be pushed and therefore they are considered "absurd."

Essentially this hysteria comes down to people like myself and JT saying Thais at 154 and down deserve more opportunities in kickboxing because the data shows it to be true, while others fight to say this is not how it should be, or that it's tough balls and deal with it.

Lol

@Cocakillbana which users does the kickboxing circle jerk club consist of?

@Snubnoze707 which users does the muay thai elitist group consist of?

Snubnoze707, Yodsanan, Karaev fan, shadess

Pushing for more Thais in kickboxing on the basis of evidence and because they're not given credence in their own sport has led these posters to threaten leaving or to put up their accounts on a bet.

That's a bit unfair I think.

I have never once talked about wanting more Thais in KB. I've mentioned that it'll be nice if Japanese promotions removed the hard cap on Thai representatives since its a silly holdover from the days of catering to public TV, but I'm hardly clamoring for Thais to come into KB to "prove themselves" or whatever. I got into KB from karate and focus on that because its whats most easily available to me. I don't pretend to be a Muay thai expert, but I do acknowledge that it has a vastly larger competitive pool and more frequent high level matchups than KB.

To be frank, I don't even know what position I'm supposed to be taking in order to not offend you. I've alternatively seen people freak out that random K-1 tourney #8 doesn't have a Thai rep and people freak out when Thais are invited to random Glory tourney #14 because they're offended at the implication of Petchpanomrung needing to fight in international KB to prove his worth.

I was speaking about myself when I said "pushing for"

Sorry for the confusion.

Huh wut? I do agree with those statements, when have I disagreed?

The types of post that piss me off are accusations of racism and dumb points like the one in this thread. I've been very clear about this.
