If he loses to Wonderboy, he'll likely move back down to go on another run.

Admittedly I haven't seen any of his fights at 155 other than the gifs of him getting murked by Hooker. Has he made improvements since then, or is he just to drained making that weight?

How do you think he matches up against the top 5 Lightweights?

Dropping weight doesn’t always guarantee success. Burns was able to find success at 170 and who knows, not having to cut weight could have been a major reason.

It looks like it has been a major factor. His striking has turned a big corner and skill wise I think he matches up well with the LW top 5. But I think the cut would compromise his cardio and durability too much.

They are still cutting weight, just cutting less. Not drastic weight cuts anymore. That isn't the same as not cutting weight.

No it doesn't guarantee success. but if he loses to the champ then wonderboy it is a likely option for Burns

I don't think he will be champion in the UFC

Move down?

No, definitely not. He turns 35 years old this month and his neck is so fat, it stretches out shirts. There is no way he could make 155 again. If anything, we might see him at 185.

No. He’s better at WW. I don’t think that cut does his chin any favors, a la the Hooker fight.

I don't think he was ranked ever at lw. He'd be a journeyman again

He had a bad time at 155. Durability was not there and he couldn't outgrapple guys as easily

has he a peanut allergy or something?

He got KO'd by Hooker, the weight cut might be too bad

Yeah right.
Straight up. Burns didn't crack top 15 if memory serves. He got wins over decent guys but when put up against the top 15 he fell short. Rashid and Prazeres gave him a run for his money on the ground and took the UD. Hooker put him out cold. His only noteworthy wins at 155 were Mercier and Brazilian Cowboy.

He is way better at 170

Heres Burns saying he had ”nasty nasty weightcut, my body was not performing the same”.

This is his Youtube channel.

Barely any fighter drops a weight class at 34 and is successful. He got chinned by Usman's jabs and by Hooker.
It's downhill from here on now. His prime might have been the Woodley fight.

Nah, he was clearly too drained at LW. He's doing much better at WW.
