What color gi do you think looks best with each belt? Mostly for competition, training it doesn't matter..

Personally, I like these:

White belt - blue gi
Blue belt - white gi
Purple belt - black gi
brown and black belt - white gi

What are the worst/ugliest that you've seen?

I've seen orange gi with blue belt, banana yellow gi with purple, and lime green with brown belt..the IBJJF made the right call banning these colors..haha.

As long as it isn't blue on blue. I like rocking white gis with my roxa.

i think you may be doing jiujitsu for the wrong reasons........

Didn't someone do this exact thread a few months ago? Not hating, it just seems like i've read this almost word for word on here before.

Anyway, I kinda agree. My blue fuji is my favorite gi, but since I've gotten a blue belt, I tend to wear my white gameness more frequently. Hoping to get a black one soon, since I swore I would never wear a black gi with a white belt.

EDIT: I was thinking of this thread...

It's just a different topic..but let's be honest, there is a bit of a "looks" aspect to it, especially at big tourneys..look at guys that have tons of patches on their gis..

I agree with not going blue on blue..makes ya look like a smurf.

Im a white belt. White belt looks better with blue gi of course.

All other belts look better with white GI IMO. Black belt looks good with both. I will never have a black gi.

The only normal one I don't like is purple with a blue gi. It's too damn close, plus I'm a little color blind so it's often hard for me to tell if someone is a blue or purple.

I don't typically like color on color. Blue on blue, white on white, etc. For some reason blue and purple belts look really good with black gis, and black on black is fine as well. I like brown with white, just for the traditional aesthetic.

It doesn't really matter what the colors are, but I have a black gi and am a blue belt.

Theres a girl at my school who is a blue belt and wears a red gi. looks really dumb, no matter what color her belt would be.

I've competed in judo tournaments (outside USJA) where they didn't have restrictions on gi colors..for those that don't do judo, it's a requirement (in the USJA and international federations) that one competitor has a blue gi and one a white gi..

my buddy used to wear a blue top with red pants..I'm undecided how I feel about it..and it was with a white or red belt (in these tournaments, the belt color was for designating scoring, not rank, like the red and green ankle bands in wrestling).

I have a bright green gi, and I feel like Donotello when I rock my purple with it

My dojo allows students to wear only white or blue in class. I don't like having any two gis exactly alike, so I have 2 whites and 2 blues. I personally feel that the white belt looks best with the blue gi, and everything else looks best with a white gi.
