GFL is (apparently) back in 2026

they learned nothing from last time. An announcement about an announcement. How about you have a date, card, and arena booked before you start this bs all over again

They're going to have another draft.
Draft was most funniest thing ever to me. Buscape refused to resign with OKTAGON due to GFL. later he didnt even get drafted... and then OKTAGON refused to resign him, poor guy... :D

Another story is Knutsson which signed with GFL after her first 3 fight contract in UFC ended... - without fight for 10 months. GFL straight up stole 10 months of her career.

Also even if GFL had enough money they wouldn't succceed cuz their system had too many holes, unless they would payed out undrafted fighters out of their contract. - Which would be guaranteed no profit for them.

  • On October 6, 2025, the GFL posted a message on social media thanking fans and athletes for their patience and confirming a planned relaunch in 2026.
  • The GFL's statement included the announcement of a rematch between former UFC middleweight champions Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold.

What was that expression "hitting a dead horse to make it go". Only a few oldsters they did not alienate left, cannot believe Weidman & Rockhold are still believing in it? Anyone talk to them?

Them announcing Weidman and Rockhold doesn't really mean anything. I highly doubt either of them is onboard. Given GFL's history, there's a chance they are namedropping both fighters to get some press. The last time around they had the draft and several fighters they drafted to teams publicly announced they had turned down the offers they received from the GFL, but that didn't stop the GFL from drafting them.

If they manage to finesse investors for a second time I’d be impressed

Rockhold just announced a couple of weeks back that he was done competing in combat sports, citing his age as a major factor.

This company... <lol>
