30 years old.

I’m working my ass off out here and can’t get comfortable to save my life.

I’m a hardworking talented mortgage advisor in Toronto. Will make around $130,000 this year Canadian. That isn’t even 100k USD this year but I’m outperforming the rest of my team.

Own one condo I’m renting out and the other one I live in.

Gotta pay child support my ex and support my kid.

Can’t afford a house in this city because they are starting at 1 million.

Can’t afford a new BMW because half my income goes to taxes.

Most Canadians are surviving on a lot less money.

It’s just hard to make it in this city. Canadian doctors and lawyers don’t even make a huge amount of money on average.

I want a lake-house overviewing the water and other nice things. I’m willing to work hard and sacrifice. Just don’t know how.

Just a regular prick trying to make it.

And you're one of the lucky ones... Cost of living shot up so, so much faster than it should have.

you make a 100k a year and you are not rich? along with your properties?

of course things might cost more but still 100k is rich as fuck

hold on a sec you might be trolling lol

Check out that other thread about doing porn...apparently doing gay porn pays...

3. Embezzle money from your new job.
4. ???

Grab your skills and enjoy real life as a king in a cheaper country.

In Canada half our income goes to taxes. My mortgage for my place is 428000, I pay $2500 a month just to live in my condo. That’s more than Half my income already. My kid eats a lot too. I’m 30 now. I just can’t get ahead.

Don’t waste you money on a car and keep grinding. I’m 30 and work hard for what I’ve got, I could blow my cash on crap that looks good on Instagram but I’m happy with a hot meal and a kiss from my wife. Could be worse homie

You’re 30 and sound like you are in a decent place right now.

Hopefully you have a decent 401 and Roth’s going plus some stocks and stock options.

Plenty of time.

Wait till your 45, have some unexpected turn of events continuously happen and sit there thinking fuck I WAS RETIRED early, now I’m starting over from scratch again.

Then bitch. It could be much much worse

With all the properties and things he has and income thats plus 100k a year he would in top 15 procent money wise in my country

So my view is a bit biased so to say
Yeah, that’s the thing. Where I live he would be very well off, but not rich. But in a city like he is in. Or something like NYC. Where everything costs twice as much, that is then like 50k here. Which is close to what I make, and I’m barely considered middle class (with my debts, i would say I’m really not)

I understand your point

But the things he has are a dream come true here so being rich is a relative thing i guess lol.

Of course some eastern euro guy will come in and say that people in here are rich as fuck and some african guy tells the eastern euro guy that hes rich as hell etc

And so the competition whose poorest goes on lol

Maybe this is your problem. Why the fuck would you need a BMW?

Also, the cost of living in Toronto is known to be very expensive. You could try moving to another city.

You gotta find your niche bro.

I know of two dumb, fat Hispanic brothers who went to my high school who started their own HVAC company here in Phoenix. They are dumb as rocks but they know how to fix an A/C and they do it cheap. They made 700K last year.

Most people stay roughly the same wealth wise, very few get rich during their lives, the majority of the rich are born into it.

Don't sweat it so much and enjoy life.

Edit, several people kindly pointed out I was speaking nonsense. I still think that definitions of rich play into the statement and obviously the first two points are accurate. The third is likely false.
