Hey guys, I was reading a bunch of discussions about the regular Fuji gi. I'm 5'11" and about 185lbs. Forum posts would have me believe that I should get an A4 if I plan on washing and drying the gi on hot, but if I plan on air drying and washing on cold, I could get away with A3.

Height Weight Size
5'2

I am 5'8" and 155# and have an A3. You need the A4. Search my review thread for photos.

That sizing chart is different than when I bought my fuji 3 months ago. The old chart you would have needed an a4 because of your height.

Get the a3 and if it doesn't seem like it is going to fit return it for the a4.

That would be a viable option but I'm in Canada and I plan on getting someone from the States to bring me the gi here...hard to return in that case. Anyways, I'll see what people say and I'll call Budovideos and ask them.

AXSO, do you mean A3 or A4? You're saying id need to shrink even the A3?

I'm 6 185 with a Fuji A4, I have done as much shrinking as possible and it still fits me baggier then I would like so I would defiantly go A3 and never dry it.

That sizing chart is fubar'ed. Where did you get it from? I mean, there is a gap between 170-200 lbs.

Look at this one here for a better one...
Fuji Victory Jiu-Jitsu Gi

According to that you should fit just fine into the A3.

Coach Beast,

I copy/pasted the chart from Budovideos.

Using the chart that Coach Beast posted which is what I went by when I ordered mine it fit pretty much how I wanted to out of the bag and even after a cold wash/hang dry I love how it fits.

I'm 5'10 157-165 depending on training/competition and went with the A3. I'd assume the A3 would be pretty snug on you. You should be ok with an A3 if you don't shrink it with high heat but it will be snug.

An A3 will be perfect on you. Cold wash and hang dry and it'll be a perfect fit all around.

I shrunk down an A3 to fit and I'm 5'9" and around 175lbs. It fit, but I like a slimmer fit so I have A2's, as well, but cold washed and hung dry.

Coach Beast,

I copy/pasted the chart from Budovideos.

Looks like budovideos screwed up with the sizing table.

Go here... Fuji Sports. Fuji All Around BJJ Gi White #7000

You will see conveniently that all other values are the same but they include the 170-200 lb gap that is present in the budovideos table. Looks like BV missed that and then bumps the rest of the weights up to the smaller size.

Summary - That original table is still fubar'd.
