Former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight king Francis Ngannou revealed to Joe Rogan what prompted him to sign with Professional Fighters League.

“The Predator” parted ways with the UFC back in January after the two parties failed to come to terms for a new deal. Ngannou, the reigning heavyweight champion, had a list of demands including having the liberty to compete in boxing matches while under contract. The knockout artist will toe the line with lineal heavyweight boxing ruler Tyson Fury Oct. 28 in Saudi Arabia under Marquess of Queensberry rules.

Unable to reach a consensus, Ngannou vacated the belt and is now signed with the PFL under an agreement that has seemingly met his demands.

In a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, “The Predator” explained how and why the PFL's offer was the most attractive to him as a free agent.

As per Ngannou, once he was a free agent, PFL CEO Pete Murray met with him and sent over a proposal soon after.

“A couple of days after, he made a proposal. I mean, I didn't even ask for anything but when he make a proposal, I look at the structure of that proposal... Everything was being taken in [to] consideration...The way that they structure it, I was already happy, I'm like, ‘I think this guy is trying to make me happy.’”

Honestly, I think that any fighter who can get out from under the thumb of the Pink Goof is making the right move.

Dana treats most fighters like shit; throws them under the bus at every opportunity.

Francis took a risk and it looks like it is working out for him.

Who will he even fight over there?

I'm happy he should get his big payday vs Fury to get KO'd in the first round but who is going to even fight in PFL?

An MMA promotion allowing him to fight elsewhere? That shit doesnt happen often, of course he signed with them, also they offered him buckets of cash in the event of him actually fighting some bum there

Smart to sign with PFL before the Furry fight. Not sure how high his stock would be on the open market after Fury KO's him

If you could get out from under the UFC and be allowed to fight Fury for big $$$$, why not. Get the cash while you can, a fighters career is short.

What else was he going to say? He can't exactly say "they're a backup plan in case I couldn't find a big money boxing bout", but obviously it was because not that many other orgs are going to let someone chase a boxing bout and then maybe have their promotion debut a few years later.

Wouldn't be surprised if he never ends up fighting in the PFL and just gets his money from the Fury fight and retires.

Where is the guy arguing that Jon jones makes 10 mill every fight and rampage was making 15 mill years ago??
