Fights the ufc has failed to deliver

FYI I’m talking about fights between signed ufc fighters, so anyone not under contract doesn’t count (fedor).

What are some big fights the ufc has failed to deliver? I can think of four off the top of my head.

Khabib/Tony (the ufc tried to book it six times?)

Yair/Zabit (the ufc tried to book it five times?)

Cejudo/Volkanovski (ufc doesn’t want to give Cejudo the fight)

Coleman/Lesnar (Coleman got hurt during training after it was booked and then dropped down to 205)

Cejudo/Volkanovski wasn’t scheduled. I’m just asking if the two you mentioned were ever scheduled because I don’t know lol

Neither were officially scheduled but they were talked about for quite some time.

I completley understand why they didnt want to give Cejudo a shot when he already had other belts to defend,and by that point was probably already being a pain in the ass to deal with.

I agree, but also disagree. Some people swear that Silva vs GSP not happening was the UFC's fault. I disagree with that, as it seemed GSP just didn't want the fight, but I do feel the UFC brass could've forced it at some point. It's not their fault, but they didn't make it happen. I think that's the premise of the thread, but I could be wrong.

I think Aldo/Pettis were scheduled for UFC 163 but Pettis pulled out with a knee injury and Aldo/KZ ended up happening instead. I only remember because I was really excited for an Aldo/Pettis showdown back then

Title is correct. The ufc hasn’t delivered these fights despite having all the fighters under contract. It is what it is.

Actually the premise of the thread is to show how strong the ufcs business model is. It’s really hard for fighters to duck each other and it shows because of their track record.

You're right, good call. I completely forgot it was official. I remember it was supposed to happen but I didn't think it got to that point.

They cant force GSP to fight if he didnt want to. They had no cause to fuck with him on that. You had two big stars doing very well for the company. One of them didnt want it,but how could they really punish GSP for it? I think when GSP tried to get the testing for the Hendricks fight,they def got fed up with GSP,which shows the horrible treatment he recieved after the fight was over,but i dont think that is tied with the Silva situation.
